New Political Paradigm?

Gillard pledges to 'forge new paradigm'

Newly elected prime minister Julia Gillard has pledged to work tirelessly to serve the Australian people and "forge a new paradigm" in federal politics.

Ms Gillard was named prime minister after independent MPs Rob Oakeshott and Tony Windsor announced their support for the Labor party in a minority government.

"Labor is prepared to deliver stable, effective and secure government for the next three years," she said at a press conference in Canberra.

"I know that if we fail in this solemn responsibility, we will be judged harshly when we next face the Australian people at the next election.

"Being held to that test is just the way I want it."

As part of her agreement with the two independents, Ms Gillard has pledged benefits of $9.9 billion for regional Australia.

Ms Gillard said that the new parliament would be more open than ever before.

"To quote Rob Oakeshott, sunshine is the best disinfectant," she said.

"We've agreed to far-reaching reforms that make me as prime minister and our government and how it functions more accountable to the Australian people."

"Let's draw back the curtains and let the sunshine in."

So, Julia has promised to forge a new Paradigm?

Well,
"it is evident that the old Political & Economic paradigms, are both on there way out".

However, I wonder just how long it will really take for both Labor & Liberal to truely understand what is really happening & the immense implications of the times we are living thru?

Good luck Australians & watch the Debt!

I don't think they understand the gravity of the situation ahead. If they do, they are certainly choosing to turn a blind eye. They seem to have a problem when it comes to looking at the big picture. Anyway, I wouldn't like to be at the helm right now, so good luck to the government.

having had to look up the meaning of that word PC..for the life of me I cant see anything changing can you?.. well not in the short term... its all about POWER the way I see it.. and if they are working on a hung parliament which they are.. two independents can still hold all the cards...why would she cut any slack in parliament and make it easier for the opposition.,.. it wont happen... oh of course she sounds soooooooo sincere.. I bet she did when she told Kevin she wouldnt cause a spill...lol..look the whole election campaign from them was a disaster, even real Julia didnt quite appear.. and now we can expect change..I wonder how many other people had to look up the word paradigm??.... yes we need change but I cant see it happening any time soon..as much as she claims it will and she is driven.

The nature of the human condition means that change is seldom volunteered, but happen it does & happen it will!

First, comes the reality of the physical paradigm, in terms of Demographics & Essential Resources.

Then comes the reality of the Economic Paradigm & finally the Political Paradigm bites into reality!

Any time soon?
It has already started!

You call that a new Paradigm?

Now this IS A NEW PARADIGM!

...

Whilst the past does not repeat exactly, some of the outcomes to the current situation will have some similarities to the past.

That said, I think this GFC may have already had its "dead cat bounce" and I would now look to the inflation adjusted charts and consider -
1) That all of these events will take a downward trend, after the initial "dead cat bounce".
2) The duration will be 20 years, plus!
3) When will this event hit the DOWN 80% LINE?
Btw, that would equate to an ALL ORDS of around 1,360?

It may also be of interest to see how US Unemployment compares now, to other post WW2 downturns?

...

And that's only a starter, the main course is simply unbelievable!
