With respects to the independents, the 3 king-makers, Julia Gillard has done little in the way of negotiating, rather has pandered to them by handing them fist fulls of cash.
They keep throwing around the term "a stable government" however, a minority government is far from stable, nor is it likely to last the mile.
Now, when Julia Gillard was ahead in the two party preferred vote she advised 'the independents' to decide in accordance with the two party preferred vote, as this reflected the wishes of the people, well apparently...now it appears Gillard has done a back-flip and forgotten all about the people and has recommended the independents now back her irrespective of Abbott being ahead in the two party preferred vote. Coupled with this, these independents own electorates preferred a more conservative government.
Katters father, Bob Sr was a labor MP, and whilst he may think he's secure where he is under Gillards wing,I doubt a post Gillard Labor party will be so accommodating, when Bob the builder is forced to resume menial non-king making tasks such as pleasing his own electorate again 12 to 18 months from now if Gillard manages to form a non-stable minority government. And when Katter returns to his electorate, just how eager do you think any of them will be to support the creator of a failed Gillard government?
These three Kings think they have the power, but it's a double edged sword...one side carving their future, the other side cutting their throats.
And wont it be amusing if by the time Katter returns, a gay-parents group has started up in his electorate.
