Real Australians are proud of our Australian history and know of our oppression and that of our ancestors under the British.
We are Australian, not British, and we come from all countries of the world, and we are better than Britain; but yet we are still oppressed under the symbolism of the union jack on our Pure Flag under the silver Southern Cross and blazing stars.
Get off our flag, you pommy anglo protestants, while you still have our grace to do so willingly.

you confuse british history with Australian history. The Union Jack on the Australian flag is a british shipping flag.

Remember that recent cringe-worthy moment when Peter Garrett, in an attempt to prove to the nation he was "worthy" of ministerial elevation, undid in a sad instant all he once stood for, by standing juxtaposed against nothing less than the US flag...

No longer was he the youthful conscientious objector, the shining exemplar of the Australian radical, who once sang with an enduring zeal and passion against imperialism in all its forms... Now he put the nation on notice that he was just another pitiful personification of what's not so admirable in the Australian psyche... crawling to powerful foreign cultures.
