Please answer the questions Tony
Aug 25th, 2010 at 7:07pm

"QUESTION:

You mention the mining tax and the carbon tax, yet two of the independents agree with both of those things and yet they represent regional Australia, so you say they’re not something regional Australia wants, but these popular independents think that they are.

TONY ABBOTT:

Well, I think what the independents want above all else is stable and competent government. Now, that’s what I want to talk to them about. How stable and competent government is best delivered and how we can have a new spirit in Australian politics"

No Tony, they want to talk about the mining Tax and a carbon tax.

"[Inaudible] parliamentary reform, which you have put out during the campaign, which areas of policy would you be prepared to give ground on, you’ve mentioned the mining tax, the carbon tax. Where would you be prepared to give ground on policy to the independents?

TONY ABBOTT:

Dennis, what I’m trying to indicate today is the spirit with which I would enter into discussions and discussions, I hasten to add, have not started. So I’m taking about the spirit with which I would enter discussions. Now, I’m not going to conduct negotiations in public, in the media "

Because I am going to have to bend over and bare my bottom to the Independants.   Without their support I cannot govern so even if it means making a prostitue out of myself i will do it, but in private

No, they don't as polling both internal and external to both major parties confirm.

Only the idiots from the Greens and dickhead journos (usually from the Age or SMH) keep raising the questions

"QUESTION:

On broadband though, only a tenth in your $6.4 billion policy goes to regional areas in the first term. Now this is not in the same category as the Government’s NBN. If you’re going to choose or select one area where you can fiddle with it, wouldn’t that be [inaudible]?

TONY ABBOTT:

I’m not going to pre-empt what might come out of discussions but I just make the point that the Government itself was, I think, very singularly unable to say how quickly its broadband roll out would take place, particularly in regional areas, during the election campaign."

If i need to backflip on broadband in order to get in i will do it.

"QUESTION:

Julia Gillard’s going to have the Deputy Prime Minister as the wingman, as it were, for negotiations. Will you be [inaudible] yourself, will you have someone [inaudible] you? Will the Nationals, specifically, be [inaudible]?

TONY ABBOTT:

I think these discussions should be held between me and the independents. I think I’m the person who has got to carry these discussions and I’m confident that, should these discussions come to what I think is a satisfactory conclusion, I will be backed by my Coalition colleagues because, as you’ve seen, we have a strong and united Coalition."

if i need to screw a national to get an Independate vote that gets me in the lodge i will.  o fcourse, it will be in private so dont you worry about that

Abbott is doing the same as Gillard she doesn't go into as much detail she just says I am not discussing what may or may not be open for negotiation???

When is someone going to ask her if teh greens back her how much will the mining tax rise to and when will the carbon tax come in??

No answer to those questions???

L4N

Julia has already mentioned the mining tax is non negotiable.  She has already stated the ETS is on hold until the next election - much the same way as howard went to an election about the GST

The fact is, under the new government, neither party will get anything through without the independants, and next year the green controlled senate

The real question is:  How much is Tony Abbott prepared to prostitute himself to be PM?

Chucky, Tony Abbott has answered all of the listed questions honestly and directly.  Your fantasy inspired inserts are totally without substance, something you have in common with Judas.

Was it you Chucky who was scoffing at the prospect of stable, honest Government?

I guess what goes around—dodgy costings—comes around to bite you on the bum!

Good! Add to that Julia can deal better with the Greens.

NBN
MRRT
ETS
health, education reform to continue.
