The Greens don't want to and won't "review" a government's policy; they want to impose their non-negotiable agenda. As they showed with their refusal to support the Rudd Government's less-than-pure Emissions Trading Scheme.

Rudd couldn't get the ETS through, because it wasn't viable or credible at the time. We all know that.

You should be thanking the Greens for not supporting it when there are better alternatives.

Actually, the Greens will never support CC action. The CPRS would have been OK, what with the GFC and coming Long Depression emissions will decrease anyway. If the Greens approve CC action why should anyone support them? the Greens are a con job.

What I find funny is the spin that the Greens would not compromise on the CPRS.

Compromise is a two way street ... so what compromise did Labor offer up to get Greens support.

Anyone like to answer?

And Greens offered amendments ... And Labor refused to discuss them with the Greens.

Labor put all their eggs in the coalition camp and Abbott smashed them.

So Greens had no option than to vote down the legislation since it locked in failure for Australia.

amendments? Bob Brown said his door was always open, just as if Bob was the PM.

Now the Greens have no CC legislation and if Abbott somehow got up as PM there would be none for at least one term, maybe none for another 11 years, who knows. good result for the environment there, NOT!

On my site I was getting complaints about your relentless spamming and trolling, you even got suspended a couple of times. It was your fault I had to ban you. If I could see that you had mended your ways i would even invite you back. But you are your usual immature spamming/trolling self.

Probably because the amended CPRS was totally inadequate.

The GFC actually had a negligible influence on GHG emissions.

Strange, I was speaking with the liberal scrutineer while we were watching the votes being counted, she was telling me of Liberals secret climate plan to get the Greens on side.

Also Labor will be considering the Greens desires on a carbon levy since Greens partly control the upper house, and have the balance in the senate.

I would say a Greens carbon levy will be on the agenda.

And like a lot of people know, with a Greens carbon levy, we will be a lot further ahead with reducing pollution by 2020 with a Greens' carbon levy started this term compared with the CPRS started last year.
