To be fair, this one isn't one of Gillards best, in fact its stupid, but I dont expect it will happen anyway.
Hopefully Labor will not be able to govern in their own right and will need GREEN support, then its game on for enviromental action.

"I will give the lesson. I would like to do it pre-election, but it's a very busy schedule and I don't know whether the surfing conditions would be appropriate between now and then," he said.

"I mean he is a beginner; I'm told there are big waves predicted for next week, so I'd like to do it before the election but I can't absolutely guarantee it."

In relation to the Getup stunt where they bid $16,000 on behalf of refugees to be taught surfing by Tony Abbott, to be fair, THAT was BEFORE the election was announced.
Others bid on a bowling game with Kevin Rudd, and others a "date" with Julia Gillard, and nobody has mentioned if those appointments have been completed before the election.

So while I can see how getup is trying to teach an ignorant Mr Abbott that refugees are real people, not just bogeymen to be exploited for political gain, to expect him to interrupt his election campaign to indulge their stunt befor the election is very unrealistic.
