How to vote Informal
Aug 16th, 2010 at 8:47am

For the House of Representatives, draw another box and mark it Yoda,  put a 1 inside that box and delete the other candidates. Bring some coloured pens in with you and inject a little mirth into the lives of those counting the votes.

Mark Latham may have advised people to put a blank ballot form in, but that's boring. I won't be voting informal for the Senate.

Does anybody else have any amusing suggestions on how to vote informal? Let's see who can find the best. After all, if Latham can advise people to do it on national TV, there is nothing wrong with it. It's a free country, and I am exercising my constitutional right not to vote for either of these negative clowns or even Bob Brown and his bumchums.

If I vote according to the process, effectively I have to make a choice as to whether I vote for the Kev's not so smart offsider who doesn't have a clue apart from the fact that she distrusts Tony Abbot (It's the eyes), or Mr (Run) Rabbit, whose policies cover as much as his budgie snugglers. Neither of them deserve my vote.

- and that is basically what's wrong with our electoral system.

I firmly believe they ought to include an option on the ballot for people who don't want to vote.

I had a relative (by marriage)  who squashed a cockroach then pasted it to the ballot form, though we try not to talk about him these days.

With the QLD state election, it annoys me to see all the party's encouraging people to 'just vote one'. I would like to get the people who hand out the how to vote cards to fill in the other boxes.

Well. I'm handing out how to vote cards for the ALP on Saturday. As far as I know, they're putting Liberals 4, Family First 3, Greens 2 and Christen Democrat party 5.

I believe they should switch 4 and 5 around. Thats in my electorate anyway. The libs candidate is a Councilor who has no idea. "We need more sports fields". Yeah right!!! We need more hospitals, high schools and better roads!!!

Take in an easel and set of water colours set up at the back of the hall and spend a few hours on a landscape / seascape / Portrait (optional) on the back of the sheet.

Joking of course.

So that would have been counted as a Liberal vote?

In this election I would think informal votes would favour the Liberals.
