There are no plans to re-open the other boards, that is why there is a real danger that this one will close if there is no improvement unfortunately

Re:Goodbye Home and Away Reply to this message

The other boards included the news message board and the general discussion board.

The software we use does not allow outside moderators, otherwise that would be a good option.

I will not ban anyone tonight, but will see how the boards are overnight and make a decision tomorrow.

Do you want these boards to stay open or will this negative infighting never stop?

Good for those moderating THIS FORUM to see what became of Yahoo compliments of flaming/trolling/stalking.

Peace out!

Instead of shutting the forum down just ban the offenders and mark their IP address. Most forums have this feature so I can't see why Yahoo doesn't do it.

I just think it is a bit suss that Yahoo gets closed down right before an election. At the end of the day who determines when a forum is closed down ? Some lying politician who feels that their position is threatened by people telling the truth ?

Anyway their is a solution to censorship and that is to move the forum to an offshore server as well as banning trollers, spammers and repeat offenders who refuse to acknowledge evidence, many who wasted others peoples times with countless posts of drivel.

Nail it's interesting that YOU blame others for this yet there are plenty on here that would say it was YOU who was the main offender.

And have you ever heard of 'proxies' mate? I would have thought a bloke who claims to know so much would actually know what he's talking about.

I see Yahoo 7 Messageboards are into collective punishment instead of making individual people accountable for their actions.
Oh well.

The incompetence and inconsistency of the moderators is the real problem, and always was.

They seemed to have no problems getting rid of Melli (who I, personally, never had any problem with), and are/were perfectly capable of banning IP addresses, but some problem posters seemed to get away with blue murder without any repercussions whatsoever.

Others were regularly grey-boxed and blackbanned for no reason whatsoever that I could see.

Their childish effort of banning words like doc, brock and lisa was stupid and offensive, their word-filter always sucked hard, and their complete arrogance in instantly deleting any thread which asked for explanations about their decisions, or which offered any criticism (positive or negative) showed a total disregard for their users.

Nar, they can't treat ya with such disrespect and expect you to keep coming back.  Only joined up here today, but seems like a good way to while away my workdays.

I will miss being able to share ideas with large numbers of people which was possible on the Yahoo site.

But their software sucked big time. It was stone age
