Copyright (or any other legal principle) can be used as an excuse to remove or censor things. The powers that be often say, "it had nothing to do with X" when it had everything to do with X. They don't have to explain why. Freedom to speak. Freedom to censor. Cheesy

They do it because they can. Whoever owns the channel or outlet gets to censor what goes on the channel or outlet.
