Still, I got to disagree that the 80s had no charm - stylistically or musically. 80s hip hop culture set a pretty good standard for style and music in the 80s (though it ran the full gamut from supremely 'dope', to supremely 'whack').

The 60's were never as cool as the 70's because the 60's needed Dope to chill out and Protests to motivate them from falling asleep.
The 80's were a financial boom period with a fabricated excessiveness - more money than they knew what to do with it, so fashion was definately over-done.

The 70's was so laid back without the need for drugs and so free to do as you please without the need for wealth to buy it for you.
I think the 'socialising' of the 70's was far more relaxed and than either 60's, 80's, and 90's thats for sure.
Everything goes in decade cycles and x4 decade cycles thats for sure.
I would take a guess that the 70's were much akin to the 30's or at least 'related'.
