Led Zep were one of the few bands that could really call themselves 'professional' (except with what they did in their 'own' time - Roll Eyes

) in that they 'backed themselves up' ...musically
Eventually they 'sold out' to the USA commercialism, but they have had the best run of independent success based upon the music/songs that they made.
The fact that they never kissed Rolling Stone Mag's arse, is why Rolling Stones Band is considered a 'better' all-time great band. What a joke!
My Top 10 (no order)
Led Zep (like)<independent and creative>
Nirvana (medium like)<changed an entire music scene/era>
Pink Floyd (like)<creative and unique>
AC/DC (medium like)<staying power>
Beatles (don't like)<melody masters>
Metallica (medium like)<conquered their own scene>
Eagles (medium like)<America's most favourite>
Doors (medium like)<most dramatic>
KISS (medium like)<best 'entertainers'>
Spice Girls (major dislike) <best fabricated popularity merchandised>

in today's market of Downloads etc. If I was a Band Manager, I will tell the band to forget doing Music Videos or making CD's - just "get out there and play" for the crowds that bother to come and hear you. Let word of mouth be the wave you ride.

With that said Gizmo,
I must say the Wiggles 'should' be one of the Top 10 'All time' "Performing Acts" if ever there was one.

During the 90's it was "ambient music" that earn't the Australian Music Industry 'the money' ...by about x10 the amount earned by all the Aust rock/pop bands put together.

So I wouldn't be surprised if the Wiggles 'sales' are way up there in comparison to Led Zep.

Shhhh ...Led Zep (with Bonhams son) have secretly produced an album but they won't be releasing it until all three remaining 'original' members have passed away. Whispers have already stated that its sounds like a ..."Renaissance" of sound that 'buries' the best stuff to date. In other words - its bloody good. Apparently it took 5 years to produce over secret meetings in various studios.

Yes but they are all coming in from different directions and sound all too similar.

...I can only guess there won't be too much interest until they do 'die off' and they did it because they want to be remembered for who they were (real) and not like an Elvis Presley 'digitally' mastered special-effect with modern artists in Duos.

I agree that Robert Plant was over the top but you have to give credit
to Jimmy Page on the electric guitar.
I would say that in 1975 he was the best electric guitar player in the world.
He made new sounds & was innovative.
I would say that every electric guitarist in the world would
have watched the Led Zep movie - entitled
" The Song Remains the Same "
& tried to emulate or possibly imagine themselves playing like that.

Give me a break - have you ever seen someone play like that at a pub or club?
Any guitarist (you would have seen) would be no where near as good as him?
