Supergroove - Sitting Inside My Head

I walk around this town as buildings close and windows are boarded
I think about you
When I hear a door slam in the wind
and the glass on the mat says welcome
I think about you

Sitting inside my head, Laughing at what I said
Come on baby let's have another toast
You might think I'm dense, laughing at my expense
Fill the cup let's wash away the ghost

In this ghost town where we live there's a wanted poster of you on every corner
She keeps asking me 'who's that' and 'what's her name?'
But I choke on every letter, as the glass flies off the table
I keep telling her I ain't the one to blame

Sitting inside my head, Laughing at what I said
Come on baby let's have another toast
You might think I'm dense, laughing at my expense
Fill the cup let's wash away the ghost

I left when I was gone, I didn't feel a thing
I didn't think you'd haunt me this long after
But the buildings crumble down, as I run from the town
I hear you breathe and I listen to your laughter

Sitting inside my head, Laughing at what I said
Come on baby let's have another toast
You might think I'm dense, laughing at my expense
Fill the cup let's wash away the ghost

I walk around this town as buildings close and windows are boarded
I think about you
When I hear a door slam in the wind
and the glass on the mat says Welcome
I think about you

Nick Cave is good. He is also a Lightning Rod for musical culture.
Remember when he was really polished and honned from doing years in Germany ...it was there that he became the 'Nick Cave' that the world came to know him and love him for.
Then he returned to Oz and suddenly became a bit more commercialised once the mainstream too an interest in him.
Then he suddenly went to the USA and everything went Gospel and kinda 'weird' in my view, for what the original NC stood for.

What it showed me is that Germany is probably the best 'Cradle' for Musicians to really get some persona, quality and style from ...more so than the UK and even the USA.

I imagine that - back in the day (not so much sure if it's the case now) - Germany might have been less susceptible to the commercial pressures of the UK and USA - certainly in a city such as Berlin - low on cost too (perfect for artists) and ultimately very high on creativity.

Anyway, early Nick Cave.

Did you see Nick Cave in one of my earlier posts, JK?

He looks so made up and "new wave" lol. Must have been 19.
