Our welfare system was not set up to accommodate harems.
Sorry, was set up to cater for the traditional western nuclear family, single parented or otherwise.

Not polygamous Muslims.
These are my views and opinions, they are not lies.
Just as your having called me a liar is your opinion, not fact.
How many polygamous Muslims are there in Australia? Maybe 3,000?
Do you consider that to be a bigger issue than single mothers?
How would you know, given polygamy is illegal in this country, this and I doubt any of them are going to stand up and admit they form part of a neighbourhood harem, like the families I knew who lived in my suburb as a child (Guildford, Sydney, NSW).
Would you admit to breaking the law, this and decline parenting payments also?

This is the problem, and because the practise is illegal, many of them marry overseas this and retain their maiden name here in Australia where their marriage isn't recognised, this and continue claiming benefits/cheating our welfare system polygamists or not.
I recall growing up in a neighbourhood whereby Muslim sandal/scuff wearing men in their 30's 40's and 50's would laze around out the front of the corner shop drinking tiny cups of coffee on milk crates, whilst smoking (I think tobacco) from a water-pipe ...one of my friends had no less than 12 siblings she referred to as her cousins, all of which lived in 3 houses in the same street, all of which had the same father. Bad back apparently!

So he was on a pension!
He had it made, and while my parents were out keeping his wives kids, they would sit around sipping tiny cups of syrupy coffee.
What a life!

....Our welfare system is set up to accommodate westerners, not Muslims who essentially resent our culture, way of life, even our people, this and are out for everything they can get.
And I'm not talking about the Christian ethnics, (they seem to assimilate better)...this and work hard, am referring to the Muslim woman who all too often spend their days lurking about the house or shops even when they could quite easily go out to work.
But then again, I suppose their cultural dress restricts their job prospects somewhat, much to their advantage.
Ever seen a Muslim woman working anywhere?
Apart from the family owned corner store or fruit shop this is?
And even then, usually, cash in hand, for a relative off the books.
It's in their nature to cheat the system and rip people off....it's called survival back in Iran/Turkey, etc.
This said, I have met some lovely Muslim people, just so many of them are not overly keen on westerners, that's all.
When I was 13, my Muslim friend Abir was sent to Lebanon for a holiday, (well, so I thought), when she returned 12 months later with a 40'sh year old husband and heavily pregnant.
She was only 13 when she left.
She recognised me in the street, but with her cultural head-gear on, I had no idea it was even her, she was a bright girl, was in my advanced maths class.
She left school after this...last I heard she was pregnant with baby number 4.
