Pizza Hut Works Bar
Jun 17th, 2010 at 9:28pm

Sad Sad Sad Sad

Who remembers the awesome Pizza Hut Works Bar? It was so good. You could eat all the Pizza you wanted for about $14 bucks, and there was a dessert and salad bar that came with it. The salad bar had those delicious Woolies pasta and potato salads, crunchy bacon bits and the dessert bar had brownies, ice-cream, apple-crumble and a bunch of stuff. Where did it go? The Dubbo Pizza Hut down ages ago, so now they only run a home-delivery service with no restaurant. I was in Orange a few days ago and saw that they still have a Pizza hut -- with the Works Bar!! I went in and had it. I can't seem to find it anywhere else I go in this country.

Do you guys miss or still have the Pizza Hut Works Bar? What about Sizzler?

I used to love the works bar, yum.
As far as the restaurant is concerned though, I know all the ones around here have closed, same as Sizzler.

Thanks God for that. Pizza Hut and Sizzler get all their food out of frozen plastic bags shipped over from God knows where.

If you wonder what happened to all the "Australian" food businesses and industries, look no further than Pizza Hut and Sizzler.

I haven't been game to venture into pizza hut or sizzler in a long time. Does that make me a food snob?

Guilty as charged yer 'onour.
I was trying to refrain from commenting, as I didn't want to sound like a food snob, but I am, and prefer it that way.
My perception of those places is that you can just get more of a poor thing.

I would qualify that remark with the observation that you could get the odd cook here and there who puts in the effort to produce edible food, but they would be working against type as far as the franchises go.

I've never thought of myself as a food snob. I will eat just about anything, from the can or freezer. Maybe it's the price. The food is probably edible, but I think it is way overpriced. I can get an Eagle Boys pizza for $6 that almost fills me up. It is much better quality.

Very true. And food is too long for fast life. Join the Slow Food movement, brothers. Grow your own and let it stew, from the seed to the pot. And then to the pot again.
