Well a brilliant, but troubled life, has played out it's final act, when Dennis Hopper died early this morning, from prostate cancer.

From his first explosive entrance into the collective consciousness, with his classic film, 'Easy Rider', his was a generation defining life of contradictions, hope and despair, brilliance and indulgence, radical and conservative.

His epic self indulgence with drugs, coinciding with a troubled mental state, led to a life producing lows almost as memorable as the cinematic highs that he has left us, but now is the time to merely say, thank you for your work, that touched the very souls of a generation, and goodbye, the world was undoubtedly a richer place for your playing of your role in it.

I liked him in Mario Bros: The Movie.
