SPIN.... SPIN..... Objective and then Subjective then Decrees ENOUGH.

What choices do we have LABOUR or LIBERAL - there is no accountability......

Enough Personalisation of the bad news to justify decisions.....

What choices do we have we are doomed either way by whatever party gets in.....

SWANN is the weakest Treasurer as he does not have a handle on policy just what his underlings put out (Just like Hockey)......

RUDD is only interested in delivery and the cheesey delivery he sprouts (like watching The Brady Bunch)  he says "Australian People" or "The Australian Families" or "Mums and Dads"................  MARSHA MARSHA MARSHA..............  RUDD has no grip on reality - just keep to those overseas trips 747 KEVIN...............

ABBOTT............  Grabs on popular media hype to deliver his message....

Can we at least have someone with no spin and have a conviction...........
aka it did not work for Gordon Brown........

It worked for Gordon Brown while he was doing all the work behind the scenes for Tony Blair. Tony Blair was the ultimate spin doctor. Gordon Brown was intelligent but was an abysmal communicator, and that's important too.

Since Abbott & Co have been out there pre-emptively (and hypocritically) squawking about a hitherto non-existent Lab election smear campaign, I thought it timely to revive an old thread about the topic of spin and smear...

I started a thread a few weeks back: Where mud sticks: election spin, slogans & shyte http://www.ozpolitic.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1279437237/30

Unfortunately, it descended into an all-in-brawl between a small number of diametrically-opposed posters - rather than maintaining due focus, on sifting through the propaganda shyte being pedalled by our pollies...

Lamenting the shift in the Australian psyche, away from the egalitarian ideal of the fair-go - and the rise of short-sighted pollies, who worship the 'Growth Fairy' and seek to divide and conquer!

Perhaps you havent yet caught up with the fact that Gillard is PM now and that 'aka' stands for 'also known as' not 'for example'.
