Australia Day
Jan 26th, 2010 at 8:19am

Public Service Announcement.

To all Asians resident within Australia. For your safety and enjoyment of our nation’s day, please avoid all public areas where groups of 10 or more Anglo-Australians are congregated. If you cannot avoid these areas, (such as if you are service personnel cleaning up discarded garbage, or maintaining port-a-loos), please keep your head bowed in deference to autodidactic school-of-life and blood-nutted Australians who have a right to be here. Please do not display an overt exuberance or shout and do not under any circumstances hold conversations in your first language where that language is not English. If you must speak (and particularly if you are conversing in the Chinlish dialect), please keep your gaze and voices down.

Let’s make our Australia Day a safe and happy one for all as we celebrate our diversity and commitment to freedom and democracy.

Happy Australia Day to one and all…. (Asylum seekers excluded).

A bit pessimistic there Helian.

I hope everyone has a great Australia Day, and goes out and joins in some of the local celebrations being held all around the country.

We have a great country, and it is worth recognising, and celebrating that.

A bit of facetious dark humour and directed at the white-trash cabbie who dropped me off at home last night and not before he hurled a string of invective at the old Asian man who was driving too slowly for his liking.

Well people do drive 40 in a 60 zone, nothing more annoying than that.

True. I guess it was the venom in his invective when he realised the driver was Asian that got me... Never mind the slow driver was an old man.

lol, I am racist in a few attitudes I have, and asian drivers is one of them.

Whenever I get behind someone who drives like they are so terrified of breaking the speed limit, they allow themselves a 20 kmh buffer, the odds are gonna be good that they are asian, in my limited experience.

I don't know if it is because they fear a fine, or whether their deep mistrust of authority is so great, having come from a culture where corruption is so endemic as to be considered the norm, that they fear they may be summarily pulled from the car and shot, for actually driving near the speed limit.

I'm told 'those people' have bad peripheral vision. Geriatrics of all colour tend to drive like they're on an electro-scooter... Unless they're on an electro-scooter.
