The spirit of God is more of a 'guide' which you can 'feel' inside your heart [not in your head].

I would say that the spirit of God is just like our conscience,
....i.e. our conscience does not compel, but we can 'hear' it 'speak' to us [or, we should!], when we are conflicted.

That has been my experience anyway.

'Visions' are something separate again.

Yes, i've had some [visions]. [....the last one was 3 years ago.]

In my experience, God mostly will let us do, whatever we will.

The spirit of God, does not compel us,
......this [life] is OUR journey.

God is our [spiritual] father.

And [mostly] we are his 'prodigal' children!
