I don't know if I'm really getting the gist of this hearing voices thing.
Does it ['Hearing voices'] mean thinking and visualising? Does it mean getting instructions through thoughts? Does it mean actually "hearing" non-existent voices with your ears?
Please explain.
Amadd,
It means, ....hearing a
real voice, inside your head.
'Hearing voices' is not 'talking to yourself', in your thoughts [i think we all do this].
'Hearing voices' entails the 'presence' of someone, whom you immediately can identify as remote from yourself [remote from your own psyche], talking to you,
and inside your head.
Dictionary,
psyche = = the human soul, mind, or spirit. The phenomenon of 'hearing voices' is a fully-fledged auditory 'hallucination' [....but it
is 'real', i.e. those who experience this are not 'imagining' it ].
Q.
Do i talk to, or hear voices, 'people', inside my own head?
A.
No.
Do i hear
any 'voices'?
The spirit of God is more of a 'guide' which you can
'feel' inside your heart [not in your head].
I would say that the spirit of God
is just like our conscience,
....i.e.
our conscience does not compel, but we can 'hear' it 'speak' to us [or,
we should!], when we are conflicted.
That has been my experience anyway.
'Visions' are something separate again.
Yes, i've had some [visions]. [....the last one was 3
years ago.]
In my experience, God mostly will let us do,
whatever we will.
The spirit of God, does not compel us,
......this [life] is
OUR journey.
God is our [spiritual] father.
And [
mostly] we are his 'prodigal' children!
Dictionary,
prodigal = = wastefully extravagant. Quote: Quote:If you want to know the mind of God, read, study, the Bible, particularly the OT.
Meditate on what you read, for its [deeper] meaning [allegories, and analogies, and such].
I do not know the mind of God.
But i seek it!

We are all God's 'prodigal' children, who have gone astray [in this world].
