sounds like a fun trip you guys have ammad.
DO NOT touch mushies, unless you have someone with you, who KNOWS what they are doing.
As well as there being poisonous ones that look very similiar, the amount you have is critical to the effect you get, too much and you can get some pretty heavy tripping that would freak out the uninitiated.

As far as peyote, mushies, LSD, they are all the same, all halicunogens, and the difference between them is like the difference between being pissed on beer, or pissed on spirits, you are still pissed.

They all invoke a "Trip" if you have enough of them, but a more sociable experience is having a small dose, and laughing with your mates with a few beers and smokes.
You still get mild visual and auditory distortion, but you stay pretty relaxed about it.
I would not recommend more than 2 or 3, any biger than 40mm diameter to try them out if you must.

I have never had peyote buttons, but I have had mescaline, which is the active ingredient they extract from them, and it has a very strong, but pleasant trip, the first time I tried them, just happened to turn out to be the funniest night of my entire life.

Thanks Mozz. I never really intended to try mushies ever since I heard a story of a guy who went to the toilet and he thought his dick dropped off into the bowl  Grin  That doesn't sound like much fun to me.
I know where to get mushies if I want them. A golf course I play at regurlarly has two types of them that grow in abundance at certain times of the year.
But really, we're pretty wussy when it comes to trying different things. Sometimes it's like a game of poker; "I'll see your 1/4 eccy and raise you a quarter".
One time a year when you know that you have friends around if things get too serious isn't too bad.  And I think it's a useful experience for fathers to have some knowledge of what their kids might eventually try.
Oh but we're getting old, and prescription drugs have been coming to the fore lately  Grin

alcohol causes the most damage to our society. It is also the most used.

Reduce the damage, legalise them all.

I guess what makes a drug dangerous is if people actually use it as a drug. There are plenty of hazardous substances out there, but most people wouldn't use them as drugs. Of course there are exceptions.

A case in point is petrol or other solvent sniffing in remote Aboriginal communities. It's a bit difficult to make petrol illegal.

Another example is mace (nutmeg husk) or Myristica fragrans. It's just a question of dose. I think you can still buy mace from the supermarket.

Another practice which has resurfaced is not a drug, but similar in effect. It was popular in the 70's, and judging from you-tube, it's coming back. The narcotic substance in question is oxygen.

Search You-Tube for 'fainting game' and you'll see what I mean.

Yes I know that fainting game Muso. It's a shocker.
Tried it couple of times myself years ago in school because I thought they were faking. Then they thought I was faking, but there was no faking about it.
After seeing a couple of kids have fits, we promptly gave that away as a bad joke.

There are a lot of things out there that will cause a "drug like" reaction and banning them all would be impossible.
I haven't been deep diving for awhile now, but I know of a few that did it purely for the narcotic effect that you get, usually below about 45m.

In the news today, I read about parents giving their kids, as young as six, bongs to keep them quiet and make them sleep. They are probably the same ones that feed their kids crap foods that make them hyper.

No, I put my wetsuit in the washing machine..and, ummm, I think it shrunk  Wink
I only really got into the deep diving because I wanted to dive Truk Lagoon. It's not real pleasurable around Victoria - except for the narcosis of course.
