Arguments against Global Warming
Aug 1st, 2009 at 7:33pm

OK, as this site, and every thread is being consumed by cut and paste propaganda from Global Warming denialists, I decided, in Muso's absence, to make a place to put all these, "opinions", in one place, so real ideas on environmental issues do not get sidetracked with this rubbish all the time.
I will put a link to real climate website, which is a good resource to see these lies debunked by working climate scientists, so that any interested in facts can get those as well as the conspirinut theories.

http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2007/05/start-here/

If you go to that site you can get real science, from real scientists, if you prefer that over the young earthers in their tractor shed institutes, that the denialists champion.

You can also scroll down the page to find the scientific debunking of all these denialist myths that we see spread.
I guess that the denialists have given up on ufo's, and moon landing hoax, and 9/11 hoax, and evolution is the devil's theory stuff, for the present, to concentrate on a bit of good old science bashing, with their global warming swindle theory, so if you want to see it, it will be here.

If you want to see it debunked, go to the Real Climate site link, or wait for our mod Muso to come back, and politely demolish their "ideas".

I am sorry, but I have given up being polite to loons, they are a one way street, they only ever hear what they want to, and that sort of people are not ones I wish to engage with.

OK, one of the main points denialists have always spruiked is that there is NO CONSESUS.
One scientist decided to apply scientific testing to that little chestnut, albeit back in 2004, it is still relevant today, because unlike what you are told by denialists, real scientists only change their ideas, when evidence supports that change, and so far the denialists have offered, none to counter the findings of the IPCC.

Anyway, the report showed that a random sampling of nearly a thousand peer reviewed studies on climate change, had a 100% rate for accepting man made CO2 as a significant contributing factor of climate change.

http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2004/12/a-statistical-analysis-of-...

That links to the full story, and even to the original study, for any who wish to challenge the methodology involved.

Lack of consensus may well be a a major point. But the real question is - why is there no consensus, considering that science has spoken?

I think it is because in the rush to political action and influence, many have committed the gravest of logical errors: they have decided that because two things are happening at the same tome, one must be the cause of the other - more CO2 in the air at the same time as there is an increase in global temperature avereges over the last (your figure here) years = well, it must be man made global warming.

And here's the killer - even if there is global warming caused by industrialisation, some bloody Indians and Chinese and their like happen to think it's worth the gain they are getting from industrialisation. Whatcha gonna do?

There were wooly mammoths in Provance a couple of millenia ago. Now we are going to have cattle grazing in Greenland again.

What's new?

I think the whole topic is a crock.  There has always been warming and cooling.

Oh dear its warming.
Oh dear its cooling.

The argument is a strawman...  even the people he calls denialists haven't denied there has been warming.

So why would they argue against it?  Cheesy

Well actually I don't know of any serious scientists who contend that CO2 does not have a warming effect upon climate, and that we humans are adding significantly to that CO2 warming effect, with our unprecedented emissions of fossil fuel use.

It is certainly the most logical conclusion to draw, especially as scientists can identify the specific carbon isotopes from fossil fuel in the atmosphere, and the ratios of naturally and man made isotopes can be measured, and compared.

Here is a link to this specific issue if that is what you were asking about.

lol, Grendel, as expected, when confronted with addressing the actual core issues you are left floundering.
Is one to take your bizzarre assumption as evidence of your propensity to personalise your "knowledge" on the climate change issue as somehow being "inside information" , through a personal acquaintance with some scientician, which you cannot divulge?

Better change your shorts, your conspiriNUTS are showing through.

I have to rely on the reports from scientific bodies, and groups, whose job it is to study these issues, and then ascertain what is reasonable from what I read.
Fortunately I am not constrained by a psychology which leads me to believe that all establishments are working on a secret agenda controlled by the zionist puppet masters, hence not to be trusted.
If I were, then I to may feel compelled to get my information from tractor shed institutes, as some others seem to. Wink

I didn't say I knew any scientists Mozz...
Actually I used to but none are climate scientists.

You of course seem to know none even though you scoffed... about real scientists opinions.

I'm sorry do you have language difficulties?

Which "denialists" do you think say that we've had no warming?

As for your insults etc..  flame and troll away because that is all you, Bozo and SuperSkipeee are capable of on this topic.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

This from Skipeee's topic.

Quote:
Unfortunately other EXPERTs beg to differ.

1. they too agree there has been warming and yes its a whole huge not even 1 degree in over 159 years.
2.  they dispute the fact that man-made CO2 emissions are the dominant cause of the warming.
3.  they dispute the fact that warming will continue on its present?/past path.
4.  they understand that warming and cooling will occur and that climate is by its very nature "hard" if not impossible for man to control.

Feel free to educate yourself.  Grin
