Nobody knows how they will react in battle, until they do it. Losing friends in battle, good friends that you may have worked with, for 5 years or so or more and talking to them at one point and then seeing them dead - is a big, big shock. For anyone.
One guy was upset because his buddies were killed, and his sergeant was saying 'Get it together'. So what. They have a hell of a lot more bravery than you EVER will have, because they are fighting for what they believe in, for real.
You are just an armchair internet warrior laughing at one guy for crying when he sees his buddies killed. He has infinitely more courage than yourself, in my estimation, just by getting on the plane and going to Afghanistan. For going to work each day knowing he could be killed.
