Roger Federers sour grapes
Feb 2nd, 2009 at 10:59am

Rafeal Nadal won the Australian Open fair and square..

BUT such was Rogers obsession with his own self importance he tried to steal the attention at the presentation for himself....in the land of" the stiff upper lip" and "real men dont cry".......Federer cried so we could all feel sowwy for him and  because Nadal beat his lil wussy arse... bboo hhooo Cry Cry Cry Cry

Nadal didnt know where to look and at a time when he should have been enjoying the accolades for his fantastic win..setting a record for Spain and himself..he was consoling fu cking Federer.

At interveiws later he said he gave the match to Nadal by performing poorly in the 5th..but Nadal in his interveiw ,piled praise and sympathy on Federer.

I guess Fed. would feel rather upset actually...at the same age ( 22 yrs) Federer only had one open title to his name..Nadal already has 6- making it highly likely he will be the one to be known as the best of all time..something Fed has aspired to.

Who cares about if he attains his goals to beat the legends of the game for his own personal glory??? ..

Im sick to death of Fed -and if I couldnt stomach his snivelling arrogance before ??..Now its official..hes a prick!!!

Its NOW also official that he's a girl ..thats why hes in here...ha ha

Lets not forget that Nadal did not have an easy road all the way thru this Open.. he had all tough matches and tougher opponents, added to that the gruelling 5 hour  semi final just hours before facing Federer..which made his ultimate title win all the more amazing thru sheer guts determination and heart.

Nadal won it !!

Amazing, after his previous double marathon effort I did not give him much chance .
nadal is great to watch, spainairds must have great heart and courage.
I saw the beginning of the match, nadal looked very tired.

Excellently well done

I think you're misconstruing Federer's release of emotion a bit there Oceanz.
There wouldn't be a sook in history to have accomplished anything near what he has. He got there by more hard work and desire than most of us could ever imagine.

Sprint, you haven't mentioned the cricket?
Wouldn't it have been great if Hadden's dicey ball take was the difference between winning and losing?  Grin
I was hoping they'd do an underarm even if it is against the rules these days.

Roger's tears rob Nadal of joy
JAKE NIALL
3/02/2009 4:00:01 AM

LATE in his five-hour 14-minute, civil war against Spanish compatriot Fernando Verdasco in the semi-finals, Rafael Nadal caught a delicate piece of a flower as it fluttered in the breeze, and made a wish.

Nadal, who says he isn't usually superstitious, wished he would win the Australian Open.

Yesterday, in the wake of another magnum opus five-setter, the man from Majorca acknowledged that seeing his friend and rival Roger Federer break down after their latest grand slam final had tempered his own joy.

"Was tough situation, a tough moment for him more than me. For sure," Nadal, who was moved to comfort a weeping Federer, said yesterday. "But for me too, no?

"Roger is, we have a relationship and was tough moment for him … too much emotion is there yesterday, no? But probably in the future … that moment on the TV going to be nice, but when you live that moment, it's tough, no?

"Because I can't enjoy 100 per cent the victory because I saw him cry."

______________________________

Im obviously not the only one who thinks he tried to spoil it for Nadal..he cried at Wimbeldon too when Nadal beat him there..

There are many who think he needs to harden up and get a grip.!!!

Oh get real Oceanz. It's a game no?

As far as their financial future is concerned, they've both made it - no?
There's no reason whatsoever for Nadal to feel sorry for Federer, and I'm sure that Federer wasn't after pity in the slightest. He was just releasing the emotion of the moment.
I thought it was good to see that the win in itself meant so much to him, he's always struck me as being a bit robotic and annoyingly perfect.
Nadal played a brilliant game, but he needs to harden up and enjoy the win. Go and rub Federer's head and say "better luck next time loser". After all, it's just a game.
