Civic Compliance ad campaign
Jan 30th, 2009 at 9:20pm

I heard one of Civic Compliances' ads today on the radio urging motorists to pay their fines because umm..well, they want money.
Their "firm but fair" campaign states that registration renewel may be denied if a motorist has any outstanding fines.

Here's some more tools at their disposal:

If You Ignore Your Fine

The Victorian Government has introduced a range of tough measures to enforce unpaid fines. The Infringements Act 2006 allows the Sheriff to enforce a number of sanctions against offenders with outstanding infringement warrants. Measures to enforce unpaid infringement warrants include:

preventing vehicle registration renewal
suspending vehicle registration
suspending driver licence
wheel-clamping
seizure of assets
sale of real estate
garnisheeing of wages (wage deductions)
arrest.

Ad to my "to do" list before I die:

1. Buy an illegal weapon from any of the readily available criminal sources.

2. Blow the absolute f@#k out of at least two traffic cameras.

3. Refuse to pay ridiculous objective infringement fine.

4. Protect my own personal property from thieves with my life if needs be.i

Don't they have to take you to a court of law first to prove the allegations?

Johnny laws state that a notice that has been sent is now assumed to have been received.
A non-reply to an infringment notice is seen as an admission of guilt, ie: it's really just a contract that they send to you. There's no victim, no property damage, no witnesses, so no criminal offense.

If you choose to take up their offer of a court case, you'll have a dufus magistrate telling you to pay the fine.
But 99% of people usually just pay the fine to get it out of the way.
Now that purse strings have tightened, that fine amount means so much more to a lot of people, and it's buying power for Tenix (Civic Compliance) weapons systems has increased proportionally. It's not suprising that there's an increase in refusals to pay infringement fines.

Indeed! It seems so strange to me that it is actually illegal to defend our property and goods from intruders in a workable way.
The law actually forbids us from using physical force to protect our property and family we are expected basically to ask them to leave!!!
Its insane.
