Apologies for posting this snippet again. The islam forum must be experiencing some IT difficulties - posts seeem to disappear randomly. In case it happens again, i made the folloing contribution to a thread on the islam forum that has the same title as this one.

Inexplicably, my post touching on Nikāḥu l-Mut‘ah (Arabic: نكاح المتعة‎ marriage for pleasure), or sigheh, has disappeared.

I referred to its prevalence in Mohammedan countries where it is a most convenient tool to engage the services of prostitutes. I also mentioned that the traffic in prostitutes is significant in thee mohammedan middle east, a significant number of the ladies beeing Persian (shia), a further salve to the sunni conscience of the Arab johns.

Is there anything wrong with stating such facts?

This was in response to someone boldly chastising the divorce rate in the decadent west. I addeed, provocatively but truthfully, that allowing for 'marriage for pleasuree', the ddivorce rate in the mohammedan middle east must be through the tent roof.

I hope it was not the quip about tents that caused the sudden disappearance of the post.

Couldn't say they were all his wives of course... its against the law.
