Interesting, and indeed terrifying.

But I was surprised not a single Islamic civilisation was there. I was beginning to get the impression from  all the propaganda here that the Muslims are the most evil barbaric civilisation that ever walked the face of the earth... perhaps these guys just never heard of us!!!

Interesting that the Mongols employed the same tactics against the Muslims that the IDF employ today of making civilians march ahead of their troops, so nobody can attack. and then they accuse Muslims of using human shields.

Anyway, thank God for Sayf ud-deen Qutuz.

abu,

I say,
thank God for his coming day of judgement.

Psalms 140:1
<<To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.>> Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;
2  Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.
3  They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.
4  Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
5  The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
6  I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.
7  O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
8  Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.
9  As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
10  Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
11  Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
12  I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.
13  Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

Psalms 5:5
The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
6  Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing [deceit]: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

God's message to Israel, to his ppl,

Isaiah 48:10
Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

And in affliction, we suffer in this world,

Daniel 12:10
Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

If not for Qutuz, Europe and Africa would've probably succumbed to the Mongol onslaught also. At Ayn Jalut, Palestine, Qutuz saved the world, this much cannot be denied.

Abu, If you feel that way, can we assume you will be discounting anything from the koran as well?

Now, Will Durant, obviously must be a revisionist fabricator, as he has some things to say about the muslim invasion of India, like "The bloodiest story in history", but here is a link, revise away.

Firstly, he seems to refer mostly to the Moghuls, who were descended from the Mongols (Moghul is actually a corruption of Mongol), so perhaps they are included there, as Mongols, not as Muslims. although the Mongols did  convert to Islam, their original conversion was not accepted by most of the Islamic scholars, because of a few points, 1) They continued using Mongol law, instead of adopting Shari'ah 2) They spent most of their time slaughtering Muslims. Even when the Moghuls conquered India, it was not the arrival of Muslims, Muslims had already been in India, ruling it for centuries, in fact the Mughals conquered mostly Muslim sultanates.

Secondly, Will Durant also had this to say about Muslims and Islamic civilisation:

Moslems seem to have been better gentlemen than their Christian peers; they kept their word more frequently, showed more mercy to the defeated, and were seldom guilty of the brutality as marked the Christian capture of Jerusalem in 1099.

So if he thinks Muslims were brutal, he thinks Christians were even more so...

Besides Will Durant was not an eye witness to any of those things he wrote about. nor did he exist in their time period, nor does he even appear to have had any reference to first hand accounts. It's probably just something he has taken from revisionist Indian nationalists who today seek to find an excuse for why their Hindu culture was defeated by Islam.
