I would be better convinced of muslim sincerity, if i were i to hear, from many Australian muslim community leaders, a broad condemnation of all violence directed against non-muslims.
And i would be better convinced if we were to hear these community leaders, repudiate many of the verses in the Koran and Hadith, which seem to encourage, and justify violent behaviour towards non-muslims, simply because the are non-muslims. such things have been said, such announcements have been made.
but of course, even if you heard these you would merely say that behind closed doors it's a different story.
I seriously doubt you'd ever be satisfied Gaybriel, The Mumbai attacks? Why do so many ppl, such as myself, feel that devout muslims are really, really, more concerned about how the war is going, and about the image of ISLAM? But that devout muslims are not really concerned, or seriously working to eliminate such attacks by muslim 'impersonators'? November 30, 2008

Of course, there is one thing they could do about that that would actually begin to make people think better of Islam, but no one even whispers anything about doing it in this article or anywhere else. And that would be to begin to saturate mosques and madrassas with the message that jihad warfare is never justified, that the imperative to subjugate unbelievers under the rule of Islamic law must be decisively rejected, and that peaceful coexistence as equals with unbelievers is to be maintained indefinitely.
