I did a 24 hour fast once. I visited a mate's place in the afternoon, towards the end of the fast. His dad had just baked a batch of fresh home made saussage rolls. He pulled them out and waved them in front of me. For some reason it didn't bother me. I think I was passed being hungry then anyway and felt normal again. I'm not a big fan of sausage rolls though.

Ramadan is not that much of a hardship. You can't eat during sunlight hours, that's about it. When I was in Tanzania, I used to partake in the Iftar, which is a very heavy, usually deep fried meal (and very tasty). We had some kind of variation on spicy fish balls with a kind of batter.

I quite often have breakfast before sunrise, skip lunch because I'm too busy and then don't eat until about 7pm - but that's because I've been going through a busy period at work.

freedive - yes, during a fast, things happen like that

apparently during ramadan many muslims put on weight.
The fasting during day stops thier metabolism, then a feast at night is too much food. Esp just before sleeping.

It is bad for the body. to starve it, then flood it with food repeatedly.

But, hope you enjoyed it anyway.
