You totally miss my point on religion, I do not think it is a good thing, but if people keep it as a personal philosophy I couldn't care less what they believe

And if a lot of the world's population want to have it as more than just a 'personal philosophy'? Invade, occupy, force secularism onto them? You're just as bad as what you accuse those you oppose of doing. You believe in your ideology, but you also believe everyone else has a right to believe in it, whether they like it or not.

I travelled a bit when younger, before any of the fundamentalist movement gained acceptance,

So people living strictly by their beliefs is just some kind of new fandangled phase is it? Didn't exist 'back in my day'?

You seem to think you have to be extreme to be real, I contend the opposite is true.

If you're only gonna be a half hearted believer, why be a believer at all? For me, it's either all or nothing. Previously I was quite agnostic, and I can't ever see myself being a 'faith reservist' (one weekend a month, two months a year).

That is when we have trouble like we are currently witnessing with Islam.
The fundamentalist extremists are very much steering the ship of Islam, and it is on a collision course with the west.
It can only lead to disaster if it continues on that course, that is why decent people hope to see wiser, more reasonable people wrest control away from the bigot extremists.

Your ideal Islamic state is as unrealistic, and as unachievable as a perfect communist state, even though socialism has far better principles of equality and freedom than your religion, in practice it became an authoritarian nightmare, the world will not stand by idly by and let theocratic authoritarianism be imposed upon it.

Have you banned Jordan from the Islam Board?

If so, could you please explain why?

Probably because of some lesbians and their mammaries, or maybe Laurence of Arabia and some gay Turk, or that copulation = sodomy (which is different to fornication)

It is you and others like you that seek to see a 'clash of civilisations' in true Huntington style.

Our system has 1350 years of proven track record, I'm sorry but Communism doesn't even come close.

He's in self-imposed exile, you might say Smiley

Studies of the psychology, or more often Psychopathy, of cult leaders, sees a pattern of the leader displaying some pretty outlandish behaviour, like speaking for god, and acting as a sexual predator towards members of the cult, including children.

http://www.dannyhaszard.com/captivehearts.htm

It is a longish read, but a couple of extracts may spark a glint of recognition in some followers, of a behaviour evidenced in their own particular cults beginnings.

  1. A charismatic leader who...increasingly becomes the object of worship

    2. A series of processes that can be associated with "coercive persuasion" or "thought reform"

    3. The tendency toward manipulation from above...with exploitation-economic, sexual, or other--of often genuine seekers who bring idealism from below

and also;

13. Promiscuous Sexual behavior/infidelity

Promiscuity, child sexual abuse, polygamy, rape, and sexual acting out of all sorts are frequently practiced by cult leaders. Conversely, there is often stringent sexual control of the followers through such tactics as enforced celibacy, arranged marriages, forced breakups and divorces, removal of children from their parents, forced abortions or mandated births. For psychopaths, sex is primarily a control and power issue.

So , a la, Mike Moore, I will leave you with a HMMMMM!, Sounds like someone we know of a bit, doesn't it?

There we go, right from the outset this is nonsense. Because Muhammad (pbuh) made one of his fiercest oppositions to the over-sanctification and worship of human beings. This is one of the most criticised aspects of Christianity, the fact they worshipped it's founder. Islam strictly forbids this. But I wouldn't expect you to know that, as you're obviously not examining Islam itself, just regurgitating other's criticisms of it.
