NT election

This one seems to be going under the radar. The Northern Territory is having a 'state' election this Saturday, August 9 2008.

What makes this one interesting is that it is the first state election since Rudd took power in the federal election, bringing coast to coast Labor governments in state and federal parliaments. I am expecting this to make things difficult for state Labor governments as Australians don't like giving too much power to one party. However it appears that Labor is heading for a comfortable victory.

A monster bet from a Darwin punter - who placed $100,000 on a Labor win - caused Centrebet to tighten its odds on Labor winning the NT poll to $1.09 while the odds on a Country Liberals win eased to $6.25.

Dates for past state elections. If anyone can find the earliest and latest possible dates for upcoming elections I would appreciate it.
