As for all Israelis being legitimate targets simply because they did national service is not a justification. There is no choice on their part. Israeli law states that they MUST serve of face imprisonment. They serve because they have to serve. After national service they are civillians because they too just want to live their life in peace and grow old with their families (the same as Palestinians).

Palestinians attacking soldiers sure. It's war. That's understandable. Regretful but such is life and war. Attacking civilians is a different thing. To say that he or she once serve therefore a legitimate target is an evil rational to justify murder. You show indignance for a girl or an shopkeeper getting killed - I'll stand with you. You show indignace for a Hamas soldier getting killed - its a waste of a life and I'd feel for his family but in the end that's the choice he made.

Say for example, in the news at the moment there is an 18 year old kid who was hit by a truck because he was playing chicken. He's a total idiot. He's probably given the driver nightmares for god knows how long, and he may be permanently injured or he may die. If he dies, it's sad but it is the fault of no one save his own because its the decision he chose.

I ask again because by your post (and I'll twist your logic back to you) if you care about the the manner in which Saleh was senselessly killed why aren't you showing the same concern for the potential victims the brigade will kill. You post with such fervour in defence of the girl and Saleh but only make a passing comments like "I don't approve of suicide bombing because its against Islam" despite the fact that this guy's associations being suicide bombers.

Good link, but you don't need to convince anyone about the inbalance of deaths on both sides. That's widely known and accepted. Yes, the Israeli killed a lot more Palestinians.... etc etc.

But this is not about keeping score (well, maybe it is for the Israelis and the Palestinians) this is about the killing of non-combatants on BOTH sides. You are never going to convince me or change my mind about the soldiers fighting for Palestine as long as they are indiscriminately killing civilians. Likewise, I'll condemn the IDF for their "sports". Its the same in Iraq.

The Martyrs Brigade are made up of several groups actually, not all use suicide bombing as a tactic and there is no indication that Saleh would have either.

What if his intentions were to kill Israeli soldiers in the Palestinian territories? What then? Would you expect me to feel sorry for them? You can be damned sure that I'd never feel sorry for them because THEY are the ones who crossed into Palestinian land illegally and with weapons, they made the conscious decision to do so and occupy anothers land while oppressing them. They are responsible for their own actions and should be held accountable for them. I wouldn't care if I was given the choice between even a day in the army where I'd have to oppress another person or life in prison I'd rather go to prison, because oppressing or transgressing against another person if for even a second is completely wrong and can't be justified. They HAVE a choice, they can do the right thing and make a stand for justice as more and more Israeli's are doing every year by actually preferring to go to prison than serve in the Army. If someone holds their own freedom as more important than another human beings then it shows how bad they really are.

But you'll never know his true intentions because he was murdered uneccesarily when they could have arrested him and tried him in front of a court. That'll never happen which is a true shame because I AM against suicide bombings and targetting civilians.

If his intentions were to do a suicide bombing and kill innocent civilians then so be it, he'd face his Creator in the next life and I condemn that behaviour and will continue to do so until I die.

The fact is that I don't need to justify to you why I think suicide bombings are forbidden and wrong. You know for sure how wrong it is, however if I come across a Muslim that thinks such behaviour is appropriate then you will see that not only do I speak with such passion about it being wrong, but if I feel that it's possible that they'd consider doing such a thing and wont change I'd go straight to the authorities so they can be dealt with. I don't like ANYONE defaming my religion by claiming it is something righteous and holy to take an innocent person's life.

As far as I am aware, any legitimate target is that which threatens life or has the potential to do so.

Any Israeli that is actually in the Palestinian Territories is committing an aggression because they have no legal or legitimate right to be there, even the UN Security Council made resolution 242 which called for ALL Israeli's to withdraw back into the 1967 Borders.

...

This map shows where Israeli's are occupying settlements in the Palestinian territories as those set out in 1967 borders in this case being the West Bank, The Israeli settlements are built up by the military and protected by them and as they expand they steal the Palestinian's resources and steal their land by forcing them out of it with intimidation from beatings or murdering the Palestinians in addition to ripping up all of their crops. Then the Israeli's confine the Palestinians to small ghetto'd areas by blocking off roads that lead out and making them Israeli only zones by joining their settlements. All of this in the Palestinians own land..

Here are some examples:
Israeli settlers terrorizing Palestinians

Israeli settlers beating Palestinian farmers

Israeli settlers stealing Palestinian lands.
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=baa_1188939296&p=1
Israeli settlers stealing Palestinian lands and claiming that God gave them that land and it's their right, that there is no Palestinian land because it's all Israel.
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=956_1188340920&p=1
Video News report:

Settlers beat Palestinians

Israeli Settlers terrorizing Palestinian school girls every day
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8963873896399386286&ei=776ISLq4KIyarAPgz...
The Israeli settlers invade, occupy, shoot at, stone and terrorize the Palestinians in the Palestinians own land defined by the 1967 borders. The Israeli army does nothing to stop them but if a Palestinian ever hits back they'll arrest them, beat them or kill them.

The aggression and threatening of Palestinian life is right there as I've shown you. If the Palestinians did this in Israeli territory or Indonesians did this in Australia they'd rightfully be considered legitimate targets. But the Israeli's aren't considered the same.. Why not?

I still think it's best not to fight Israeli settlers unless they are armed and if they are then they are fair game, regardless of whether they are in a uniform or not, they are not only illegally occupying Palestinian land but they are doing so at the barrel of a gun.

"the UN in fact is only a tool to maintain the imperialism of the victors of WW2."

It seems funny how in one thread you can dismiss the UN so totally, then justify violence in the area, because it has a resolution regarding the palestinian region that you agree with.

The UN is a tool to maintain it, why do you think nothing has been done about the israeli occupation of palestine but it has been done about iraq? it goes with the interests of the US and other permanent members and a palestinian state isnt in their interests or they'd have forced israel

Except of course for the bomb he was wearing...

They HAVE a choice, they can do the right thing and make a stand for justice as more and more Israeli's are doing every year by actually preferring to go to prison than serve in the Army.

Perhaps that would happen a lot more if the palestinians stopped sending over suicide bombers.

If his intentions were to do a suicide bombing and kill innocent civilians then so be it, he'd face his Creator in the next life

We'd prefer if he didn't kill a heap of innocent civilians along the way, thank you very much.

Malik, MS Paint or something equivalent will shrink images for you.

Again, it doesn't matter whether he is an accountant in the accounting dept - it is still a terrorist group.

Nevertheless, the fact that the brigade do indiscriminately kill innocents as well as soldiers highlights the immorality of the group. The fact that he is willing to be part of this group knowing the acts they commit shows the level of person he is with regards to the disregards of innocent lives.

No, you don't have to justify to us, and neither do we have to justify to you either as you have asked easel FD and I to do.

And no one is defaming (at least not I) your religion. In this case I question the the morality of this particular group.

So then according to your logic, no Israeli adult that is in the occupied territories set by 1967 borders is innocent, thus are legitimate targets due to their being in either the fulltime or reserve army which are both obligatory for them and occupying Palestinian lands.

I would say personally that ANY Israeli who is armed and in the Palestinian territories, regardless whether they are in uniform or not is committing an aggression or is a threat and thus is a legitimate target.

Like the following:

...
...
...

All of them are armed and in Palestinian territories illegally according to the 1967 borders. Thus are completely legitimate targets.

The Israeli percentages of killing innocent civilians is more than 70% of Palestinian casualties, which is greater than the Palestinian resistance groups civilian deaths.

If that is the case then it shows that anyone in the Israeli army is part of an immoral organization that commits murder against innocent civilians, making them legitimate targets.

Statistics were found at http://www.btselem.org/English/Statistics/Casualties.asp

Of the 4862 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since 09/2000 to 04/2008, more than 3485 or 71.67% of those were not found to be engaging in hostilities against the Israeli's.

Calculation was working out the percentage (3485/4862)X100=71.67
Therefore 71.67% of Palestinian deaths were not engaged in hostilities against the Israeli's.

I did not take into account the amout of Palestinians that were targets of Israeli assasinations (even though they were not provided a trial and were killed extrajudicially), if I had dones so it would mean that the number of Palestinians dead would be 76.45% who were not engaged in hostilities against the Israeli's but to be conservative we wont add them.

However if we use that logic to judge Israeli's we'll find that all Israeli adults go to the army and after they finish their fulltime service they have to serve part time so all Israeli adults can be considered legitimate targets for assasination as the Israeli's targetted assassinations are simply just killing any member of a Palestinian resistance group, even if they weren't engaging in hostilities at the time they were executed, If I was to calculate the Israeli deaths the same way it would mean that only 123 of the 1057 Israeli's that died were minors and that means that according to the percentage calculation (123/1057)X100= 11.63, so only 11.63% of those killed were not legitimate according to the logic that allows targetted assasinations of Palestinians.

There's a big difference between them..

I think if you are going to make a comparison, you should use the same standard, not try to justify a different standard on the grounds that you think it's OK to kill Israeli civilians.
