Bread
Jan 14th, 2008 at 7:39pm

"Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life.
He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty."
John 6:35

That's a funny phrase, isn't it ? The bread of life.
Wonder what he meant by that, why did he say bread?

Any suggestions, you little lurkers out there ??   Wink

I think he meant that by being the "Bread of life" That anyone who could come to him would never hunger for more in life mayby? I'm not especially good at searching for the meaning in the holy Verses.

E.g. if a person wants more in life, is feeling down, he fills you up like a glass of wine i guess?

Whats your take Sprint?

Welcome Labor_man.
They are pretty good thoughts you have.

I also thought, bread is cheap, everyone can buy, get or have it.
Available to all, fulfilling.

Bread is a staple food. Therefore Christ is saying that his moral philosophies are a staple for life.

In that case, what about wine?

Also thought of how bread is made.

Wheat is grown till it is at its peak. Then it is harvested, taken to the mill where it is threshed.
It put into the oven. Then it rises.  Smiley

Quite like Jesus was.

Maybe it refers to the colour of bread. It comes in white, brown etc, so Jesus was a fan of multiculturalism. You can also get bread with poppy seeds on it.
