Family First!!

I have done some research and found this reading taken from the family first website to back me up!

"What is the most important thing in your life?
FAMILY FIRST believes it is our families, and we are passionate about making Australia the best country to raise a family. To build Australia, surely we need to be paying more attention to the wellbeing of our families and making that our top priority. If you believe families should be at the centre of Australia's political agenda, join FAMILY FIRST today."

Australia believes in the foundation that is family...if the worm was here right now he would tell you...FAMILY FIRST 07!! Get ready Australia, Family First are going to rock your jocks!

No thanks, I'm quite happy with my jocks the way they are. If your family is so important you should spend time with them, not a political party.

Some family first policies. And just a wee bit of spin Smiley

We believe Australia should be the best country in the world
to raise a family.
• We are passionate about families and small businesses; two
groups which do not have a strong voice in Parliament.

Actions:
• FAMILY FIRST has a plan to reduce Australia's alcohol toll, and
has introduced the Alcohol Toll Reduction Bill 2007 into
Parliament to require health information labels on all alcohol
products; restrict TV and radio alcohol advertising to after 9pm and
before 5am to stop alcohol being marketed to young people;
require all alcohol ads to be pre-approved by a government body;
and ban alcohol ads which are aimed at children or which link
drinking to personal, business, social, sporting, sexual or other
success

Actions:
• FAMILY FIRST has long been calling for mandatory filtering at
the ISP level. It is only by mandatory filtering at the ISP level that
we can help protect all children from exposure to pornography;
• FAMILY FIRST believes that, as a first step, we should filter the
worst sites at the ISP level because that also sends a message to
industry that it has a role in helping to protect our kids. FAMILY
FIRST proposes a system that allows adults who want
pornography to 'opt in' and access it;
• FAMILY FIRST calls on the Federal Government to take tougher
action against the States and Territories to have filters installed in
public libraries.

Tell you what, they may have my vote

Actions:
• FAMILY FIRST calls on the Government to take responsibility for television advertising to ensure ads reflect community standards. FAMILY FIRST believes this should be the responsibility of the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA);
• FAMILY FIRST will continue to call for Big Brother and Californication to be axed;

it's looking better, theyh will axe big brother !! Not seen californication, so can't comment.
But big brother is not a positive effect on aussie

Family First sorry for slur on rival

Family first trying to stick their nose in where it doesn't belong again. Maybe they should rename themselves nuclear families first. Weren't they involved in another very similar incident recently?

http://www.smh.com.au/news/National/Family-First-sorry-for-slur-on-rival/2007/11/01/1193619053120.html

A Family First candidate in Queensland has apologised to his Liberal rival after urging her to come clean over her sexuality.

Family First's only federal politician, Senator Steve Fielding, has reprimanded Ben Jacobsen, who is contesting the far north Queensland seat of Leichhardt.

Mr Jacobsen is running against former government staffer Charlie McKillop, who is hoping to succeed retiring Liberal Warren Entsch.

In Brisbane's Courier Mail newspaper, Mr Jacobsen said voters in Leichhardt had a right to know if Ms McKillop was gay.

"The voters might not give a rats if a candidate is gay," he told the newspaper.

"But they have a right to know who you'll bat for."

Late Thursday Senator Fielding and Mr Jacobsen apologised for the remarks.

Mr Jacobsen's outburst was not the first time Ms McKillop has been attacked by a rival.

Nationals opponent Ian Causland last month suggested it was not a suitable seat for a woman.

Campaigning in Tamworth, Nationals leader Mark Vaile said a person's circumstances were their own business.

I'm  just posting some of their policies here.
There is a LOT less spin there than on other political sites.

of course voters have a right to know if rep is gay or not
It is relevant to me whether my vote goes to a gay or not.

I assume she is, she should be happy enough to tell all.

That's up to steve.

I think it is my business. They want my vote, I am the customer.
. Same as they were a druggie. It all forms part of my decision making .
Bob Brown is ok, he is happy to be known as a gay.  All that comes into the equation.
It would be different if he were trying to hide it.
