A posting from my catholic friend
Jun 28th, 2007 at 9:36am

My Catholic friend asked me to post this:

"I am very proud to be a part of God's family. My Father God is the best dad in the world!
He made everything and loves me unconditionally.

Would you like to pray this prayer with me:

Lord Jesus, I need you. Thank you for dying on the cross for me.
Forgive me and cleanse me. Right this moment I trust you as Saviour
and Lord. Make me the type of person you created me to be. In Christ's
     name. Amen

If you have said this prayer from the heart, you are now a Christian and a member of God's family. You will never regret it. God loves you heaps."

Hi pender - yes, I dislike the catholic faith.
Essentially though, they are christians too. We are all parts of the same body.
Some catholics do not like us born again pentecostals.
Is of little consequence really.

Ausnat - I'm glad to hear that.  Is great having you in ozpolitic.

Had a thought. That prayer she asked my to put up is what we call a "sinners prayer."
If anyone has said it and believes it, it is a good idea to go to a church nearby, buy and read a Bible. (make it a big font one, so you can read it for hours), have a chat to the big Guy in the Sky, or talk to a christian you know, feel free to drop me a personal message.
I won't tell anyone else here. Spiritually, it IS a big thing.

Don't let what you said and believe fade away. It meant something then. It still does now.

She asked me to post this also.

"Small story: On fire for the Lord

I was thirty-five and was working in a Medical Research Institute, while the Spirit of the Lord was working in others to show me the way home. I didn’t realise it at the time but I was part of God’s plan to love and serve Him. Christians told me of their love for God, recommended Christian books and reading the Word of God regularly.

I read Josh McDowall’s book More than a Carpenter and accepted his invitation to pray the prayer of salvation. Soon after I felt the presence of God in my heart. I felt the greatness of God and his peace and joy within me. I was on fire for the Lord. The Holy Spirit showed me the Lord’s crucifixion and so I knew it was real and true. Later I was baptised in water and accepted the Spirit’s leading me into the Catholic Church. I have had no regrets. The Church has inspired and uplifted me to continue to follow Christ and be a child of light for others. The life of Jesus and the saints guides me daily. I have come home now. (TL)"

pender - Excellent is what I think.

My catholic friend is a born again baptisedasanadult Christian.

"Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully."
Romans 12:4-8
