i dont understand why some poeple are so opposed to others having an oppinion that differs from their own, and then feel the need to categorise these people into easily attackable groups so they can dismiss their oppinions.

the reason people care about the sex life of others is because some people care about others, and if they think that someones sex life is harmful to these people they feel the need to let them know what they think.

On teh same not i never presume to think that i have the right to force anyone to act a certain way.

I don't care. If they wish to root knot holes in trees they should feel free to do so.

But fortunately in a liberal democracy, that is not run by the Greens, we are allowed to form opinions. Stated opinions don't necessarily make us care more or care less, they simply reflect how we think in a free society.

I understand that if you are a lefty (particularly a Green) that is anathema. But we righties permit differences without getting agitated. As you appear to be doing.

You make an interesting point pender. In political tests (to determine one's political stance) I always turn out to be centric and in many areas (socially and philosophically) I would be classed left wing given the nature of such tests.

But I don't identify at all with the left wing due to their often extreme intolerance and bigotry, hostility, propensity to indulge in violent remedy and ignorance of matters political. The selfishness of the lefty is not something which appeals to me.

So though I have empathy with left wing causes I drift right because the people on the right are the ones who care to do something, are in a position to do something and are willing to do something. In politics they are generally far more wholistic in their approach to society and treat everyone equally.

Leftards, in general, are divisive and polarised by their own lack of tolerance for difference, and the rights of others to form opinions. And while they mouth platitudes they often do nothing at all about their ideological rambling.
