Red is the colour of passion.
Of blood, fertile soils and a setting sun.
Many sects feature red, scarlett, purple or crimson in their clothing.
Purple is a symbol of wealth, Scarlet O'hara ended up owning "tara" in "Gone with The Wind."

Red is the colour that runs in a wash and fades on a car. Red cars go faster.
When I wear my purple shirt people look. They think "Who is he, that he wears that shirt."

American Red Indians believed in many Spirits and also in the One Great Spirit.
Adam (the first man) means "[red] earth or [ruddy] skin colour."

Purple is a symbol of wealth because it used to be very expensive. I think the only way people used to know how to make it was with gold.

People who can't distinguish between etymology and entomology bug me in ways I cannot put into words.

thanks free, I had no idea on purple about gold.  It feels an opulant colour.

Also had a thought on white, being a purity colour.
It apparently reflects all light, so takes nothing from the surroundings.
