The Biggest Loser-
Apr 9th, 2007 at 9:06pm

Have been watching the Biggest Loser with it nauseatingly choreographed tearjerk scenes and wondering how good  or bad this program is !

On the one hand it could be said  may inspire pple to lose weight and Ive no doubt pple do--but on the show I see pple with massive amounts of weight to lose doing the most irresponsible and dangerous things-pushing very lge bodies to the max in exercise feats that I doubt a doctor would approve of.There would have to be copycat fanatics out there believing this could apply to them in spite of the fact they may have health problems they are unaware of.  I still havent seen any advice dispensed ot the vewing public- small print perhaps? So small as to be useless.

On the actual show itself they dont give scenes of health care professionals doing blood pressure checks etc-they need to.

I think one guy collapsed early in from 'a turn'.

Is this show irrisponsible? Or inspirational?

It's boring. Nothing more. Just as bad as that idol show. Cameras waiting for some weak minded person to burst into tears over a petty insult. Why do you watch it?

It's all good. Different tastes for different people. Most people I know love this show. And that's all well and good. It's just me that doesn't like it on an individual basis.

To be honest, watching fat people run around trying to overcome their lardness isn't my idea of good tv watching. Why was this tv show created? -So we can laugh and point our fingers 'at the fat people.'
"Ohhh... look how fat that guy is. Lucky I'm not as big as him."

If I wanted to watch fat people, I'd go to McDonalds.

I think also this show is targetting a mainly woman audience. Would this be a fair assessment?

Oh, and do you know what I really love? -How there's McDonald and fast food commercials on while the Biggest Loser is being broadcast.  Tongue
How low can these foodchains go?  Roll Eyes

no, that title belongs to Big Brother.

i still don't understand how that show can still be around for a 7th season.
if i wanted to watch people hanging out in a house, then i just need to look at my own life.

Well trump -you haver an excellent point about the Maccas ads during screening-that IS pretty low and unethical.

Big Brother is worse though. Defies description really-! There are many ethical dilemmmas there but dont easily spring to mind.

Reality TV is very popular and IS the reality these days.

yes, it is irresponsible and dangerous. massively overweight people doing sand sprinting and lunges !!
one "contestant" retired after heart complaints - twice !!!

What happens when someone seriously injures themselves there ??

hahha - Big brother is the worst. selfish immature egotistical brats taking about themselves !!

never noticed fast food adds during biggest loser. Great head spinner there.

I hope there is no 7th season of Big Brother.]

The last one was the worst I think-turkey slaps and all.

David and his 'boyfriend' having a pash on stage talking to Gretel- that was not a good look .

But there will be a few BBs yet to come I would venture to say.

Well, the first big brother was pretty good, but the rest sucked because they each series tried to top the last and tried causing confrontations in the house for good tv viewing.

The one thing I do like about the newer series though is uplate... admittedly.  Tongue   Mike Goldblum is a pretty good host. I watch it mostly to see what he has to say.

Well BB and BL maybe be a bit dodgy but what about "Cheaters"?

Now there is a peice of work.

Doesnt that presenter guy wonder if one day he isnt going to get his face touched up?

Yes they are going after cheaters but wouldnt that make you furious all the same?

I wonder if its for real?

to Freeedivers question as to why we watch this stuff- could it be a bit of the "voyeour" in us?

A fairly common trait amongst most humans.

LOL

I love the questions the host asks... "What are you doing?" "Would you care to explain?"

If I was the guy caught cheating... I'd be like, "Well, what does it look like, jack-ass?!?!?" Grin

yes exactly DT-or give a completely lame answer such as 'you are!!' in response to what are you doing ?

I toldyou  it was lame! Grin

I kind of feel for the cheaters , if thats possible-and i dont have much resepect for the 'victims' dragging theyre personal lives all over TV.

How desperate for 'fame' do you have to be to get your 'exposure' this way?

What about the woman who found her guy trotting out a gay guy-so unexpected? and the gay gay who caught his bf cheating-?

The storylines astound and rivvet me-bring it on baby.

Verrrryyy Jerry Springer.

Ricky Lake.."uh-oh who could be behind that door ? is it your real babys daddy I wonder?" and " so this dead beat dad lives under a crate! Are you going to start paying child support for your baby"? Grin

mmmm

As for Biggest Loser I want Damien to win-he was about 216 kgs at 1st weigh in and hes lost about 50 kgs...he was dangerously overweight.

Munnalita is annoying-she controls and manipulates the others by emotional black mail  ' OOOhhh , feel sorry for me, I want to have a baby". Just not on.! Dishonest .
