Those of us that post only here support OzPol/FD with ad revenue from our posts and our views of others’ posts.

It seems clear that the sewer, the board with the name PA, better known as “the sewer” hanging off this forum is poaching members from here. The sewer, tho hanging off this board like a diseased poultice hanging from a hospital window, does not contribute to the running of this site by ad revenue.

Not only that, the sewer hides more than 50% of its posts from the purview of OzPol (and many sewer members) in hidden boards.

Worse—not every member of OzPol can join the sewer. Fewer still can see the hidden forums there. Make the sewer a MRB here, free for ALL to join. There is no long an “PA community” around.

Look at the Member Run Board section of OzPol. Moribund, comatose isn’t it? about five boards have had no activity THIS MONTH!

Time to combine the sewer and OzPol—let ALL contribute to the running of this dump! More activity here might atrtact more good new members!

Fringe should be deleted. Fairytales no way to attract good, strong new members.

AGW is obvious—time to renew the Environment board! And so on and so on.

Constructive criticism is useful and I try to be constructive.

Electing MRB Mods was always going to be a disaster but for saying it ahead of time I got a months holiday.

Saying FD was leaving himself open to legal action for Dr Mengele’s foul posts got mothra a permanent ban. Well, so far as we can figure out because FD has not had the decency to give the reason for the ban, nor for the permanent ban of JohnSmith. You think that is good?

As for the sewer, I just suggest it become a MRB here so all can participate and PA helps FD earn some revenue to pay the cost of running this place, a cost of about $300 a year, probably, $20/month or so for renting www space, cost of the domain name ozpolitic.com etc.

I left there when it was just too foul—a picture of me from the Aussie Home Brewer site with the caption that it was a photo of a pedophile. I was permanently banned after I left. SN must have been “Exhalted leader” and offered me and Aussie the chance to return. I told him I had no desire to return. Aussie accepted the offer and the conditions but got booted again.

So I refer to it as a sewer and warn people that doxxing is alive and well and to stay away.

When I was in the sewer there was no hidden area there, that happened after I left.

We laugh at Booby in the Sand Pit. He can and has recently posted there. I post scientific papers and show that temperatures are rising and ice disappearing and Booby talks of an ice age.  ::)

The concept of the Fringe certainly has its place.  There are opportunities to explore the lesser known and understood topics, to learn something along the way through seeking the truth and investigating the topics.

The problem is that isn't what happens there.  The board was poisoned by one or two, mainly one, who prefers conspiracy over fact.

Every logical and more so factual explanation that didn't support their belief was instantly wrong or part of a secret conspiracy.

Learning stops there.

I started exploring that board to learn more about what some of the alternative views are.  But it turned out to be one or two nutbars just reposting material made by others that the mostly didn't understand if they even bothered to read it or watch it.

So often the clickbait headlines that drew them in were not supported or even debunked by the actual content they posted.

Everything devolved quickly into a pissing match trying to demand their claims or proofs be explained and debunked and if they couldn't, or nobody bothered to waste their time, that proved them to be true.

It was just arguing.  Basic debating or even the scientific process never got a look in.

And it was utterly pointless because no valid explanation would ever suffice and was always dismissed or the posters attacked, had their posts buried by spam or just inundated with off topic replies.

There was even a handy formula that could be used to predict what would happen next.

It would be a shame to lose that opportunity for learning, but since I've bothered posting in there, it's never been used for that anyway.

It's mainly been used as the padded room to keep Light and his bullshit from infecting everywhere else on the boards.  Now that he's banned (I think?) it can't even do that.

An intellectual exchange of ideas is always a good thing, but sadly that's never what the Fringe has been. 

One can only hope.

Yeah, I know what you mean—I have glanced at some of your posts slinging off at Light. I tried, a bit, to argue against his flat earth crap.

I can even see that an interstellar civilisation aware of us might send a few spy vessels before deciding to contact is. But there is like 70 years of fuzzy photos etc, clearly not evidence of a reconnaiscance by another world.

Cods - Aussie received a nasty PM. Of course he would want to know who it came from. I haven't seen him accuse anyone in particular of sending it. Something happened to me recently and I have my suspicions, but can't prove anything - the same way Aussie can't prove anything. I contacted the only mod that I trusted over there, but unfortunately there really wasn't anything he could do about it. Aussie can't do anything about that nasty message either, but if he needs to vent - he's allowed.

The only advice I can give to anyone who thinks Aussie and Monk are being mean to them is to make an effort to be civil to them and you will probably find that they will be civil back to you.

I don't know why anyone would want to read Sparta, but perhaps they would like to see if any slanderous comments are being made about them.

If Ozpolitic went down that path - it would seal its demise permanently. It might be quiet at the moment, but it's regrouping as it has done many times over the years. Stick to GMods who have a recognised history and are a benign and known quantity.

There are not that many badly behaved members here. It seems like some people are trying to push Setanta out and replace him with one of your mates.

This would be a disaster. We would have permanently banned members back here in a flash. Ozpolitic needs to be separated completely from PA where totally different rules apply. Aussie and quite a few others will also be permanently banned. I know you're probably thinking this would be wonderful, but it won't be for a lot of people.

You've got a forum that you're happy posting in Cods. Can't you be satisfied with that? Why try and gain control of both forums. Is it pure greed, hunger for power or what?

Things are going fine here at the moment. Setanta is doing a good job and Ozpolitic is quiet enough for him not to be put under a lot of pressure. If he needs help - then let FD appoint a GMod here who is used to the members and accepts them for who they are. At least appoint someone who most of us know and trust.

Anybody that wants OzPol destroyed just support the push for Body Odor to be made a GMod here. I would like to believe FD is not that stupid but the signs are not good.

Poor old cods is burning friends here at a rapid rate and as she does she is frantic to hang on to the ones she has, even to ordering them not to post at my joint (not even to protest something!) and is trying to tell mantra where to post.

The sewer is like that, controlling and when cods has no friends here they will cut her loose.

Copying posts from PA to OzPol in the hope they will engage someone Occasionally when it is necessary.  I'd do it at the sewer where I am constantly attacked and am unable to reply there. I am sure Aussie has it all copied as he is madly copying posts from forum to forum furiously as they are made. "Bobby's welfare?"  Gawd....he has a sore knee.  FMD.....I was hospitalised on Saturday after being struck by a golf ball going at about 200 mph on the left trapezius.  Instant agony....instant nausea.....almost instantly passed out for a tad under a minute.  Ambos, hospital....observed....x-rayed, no fracture or chipping....massive swelling and bruising and back here posting away on Saturday evening.

Instead of whining I wrote a blog on the whole thing, here that even the surgeon was interested in and that helped more than a few people facing similar operations.

The most “fun” part of the whole experience was when the nurses rolled you over on to your side to make the bed. EVERYBODY, including the refined lady in the bed next door, swore like a trooper! EVERYBODY!

Trick is: make your operated on leg (hip) stiff, like a log. Did help. A bit. We still swore tho.

A professional journalist spent 20 minutes reading that blog and was quite impressed. So if you or someone you know is looking at a hip replacement operation read it.

Yup. Labor needs to get stuck into the many many rorts. The Private Health subsidies can go for a starter. Less or no money for the most elite schools, more money to the public schools who are taking a bigger and bigger share of students.

Of course the sewer (and its Admin) is not responsible.  Neferti is.  She is still a Member at the sewer, (everyone there is well aware of her conduct on the 5th November last and on the 12th February, 2018,) and THAT the sewer Admin IS responsible for.  If the sewer is copping grief over this.......take it up with Neferti and Admin there.
