If you think you have solved a puzzle, but you are told the answer is incorrect when you hit the submit button, you may be using a word that is not in the word list. Check it here. The word list allows us to provide puzzles that only have one unique answer, given the hints provided and assuming that you do not repeat any words.

Swordle

Crow Scare

If your words are all included but you are still getting it wrong, check whether the puzzle includes diagonals etc. If you think you have found a bug, please let us know.

Tip: keep this page open on a separate tab while solving a puzzle, if you need to refer to it regularly.

Some 'rules' for what is included in the word list:

Only common and broadly familiar words are included. If you are familiar with wordle, the criteria is somewhere between that used for the answer list (about 2300 five-letter words) and the allowable guess list (about 13000 words).

Plurals and past tense words are included. Very common acronyms and abbreviations are included, if there use has become equivalent to a standalone word. Some informal words are also included, such as ma, mum, mom and mama. Where the American and British spelling of a word differ slightly and both are broadly accepted, both have generally been included, however more localised dialectal terms, spellings and slang have not. No proper nouns (names of people, places ets) are included.

I tended to be more flexible with the two and three letter words, as there were not many to choose from.
