The term "psychopath" is used to describe someone who is callous, unemotional, and morally depraved.
Although not an official mental health diagnosis, it is often used in clinical and legal settings to refer to someone who often is egocentric, antisocial, lacking remorse and empathy for others, and often has criminal tendencies.

A corollary to this is that, while disdain for a foreign leader can be dangerous, at least the foreign leader and his compatriots can understand and respect it.

Obsessive adulation for a foreign leader, on the other hand, breeds nothing but domestic and foreign contempt and disdain for the adulators.

It's a throwback to Australia's colonial mindset, with its cringe over Australian socio-culturalism, that some of us see no irony in expressing Trump devotional syndrome, even when he acts against Australia's interests.

There are those of us who might remember the early visits of QE2 and President Johnson's visit... Australian Trump devotional syndrome is a throwback to the sentiments of those events.
