My plan - why, to defeat the market vultures!
The Twelve Step Program:-
chop mass immigration to zero -
import only necessaries -
deport those who have not made a real go of things here or who have proven to be criminals -
stick to full privileges in taxation only on new construction (though where any meaningful HOUSES ar going to go anywhere near the major cities that control the albour market is beyond me -
split the huge and unwieldy states up and let the city slickers wallow in their own filth of great ideas fueled by social science lunacy -
alter the foundation of our Senate and electoral process to destroy the power of the major parties -
cut government waste poured into useless ventures such as commissions and funding Aboriginal failure and put it where it is best used in services to all in the community -
re-industrialise using the most up-to-date tech and exploit our own resources for our own benefit -
look at really high tech industries such as drones and so forth -
implement the GAIA projects I've mooted for years and some of which are now coming to fruition (no royalties for me, though).
in brief
China, India, Indonesia, and Malaysia are among the countries that do not allow their citizens to hold dual nationality.
The Coalition's plans could force citizens of those countries to choose between their passports and support.Country shopers are kvetching, but...
The changes would mean that only Australian citizens could access benefits including JobSeeker, Youth allowance, carer payment, Austudy, the NDIS, and pensions. Exactly how much money the Coalition's plans would save taxpayers has not been provided.
Permanent residents, who are taxpayers, have always had access to basic social benefits, but successive Coalition governments have implemented delay periods for welfare access.
Currently, new arrivals must wait four years to access most benefits and up to 10 years for aged and disability pensions.
"Citizenship matters," Taylor said on Monday while on a national campaign following his budget reply. "If people commit to this country, if immigrants commit to this country, we will commit to them."
SBS News spoke to multiple people who expressed frustration about the implication that people might have to choose to forego dual citizenship status and choose Australian citizenship in order to gain benefits, if the Coalition's policy were to become law.
Of the 195 countries recognised by the UN, 120 allow for multiple citizenships, but countries like China and India that have large diaspora communities in Australia, don't.
Good policy.
Foreign nationals generally cannot access Indian government welfare schemes, as these are funded by taxpayer revenue and strictly reserved for Indian citizens.
China: While foreigners contribute to unemployment insurance, collecting the benefits is highly difficult in practice. This is because a foreigner's right to remain in the country is tied directly to their work visa; if they lose their job, their visa is revoked, requiring them to leave the country.
Foreigners in Malaysia generally have highly restricted access to government welfare. The national social safety net, primarily administered by the Department of Social Welfare (Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM)), is overwhelmingly reserved for Malaysian citizens
Indian hypocrite : "Excluding non-citizens out of these welfare payments is just inhumane."https://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/doesnt-sound-good-fears-for-difficult-citize...
