As for Section 44 of the Australian Constitution ...

I reckon that piece of antiquated twaddle needs to be changed.

I have no issue with a person holding dual citizenship being a member of our Parliament.

In fact, the absurdity of that antiquated guff is obvious when you think about it.

The parliamentarians at the moment have to swear allegiance to a foreign Queen!  Cheesy

Irony anyone?
  Roll Eyes

p.s.

I am a supporter of an Australian Republic, although I acknowledge that: a) It will not happen while Liz is still alive and b) It will probably not happen during my lifetime.  Sad

If you're not Australian 100% we don't want you in ANY capacity of governance, including senior appointed positions.

Place has never been any good since all these money-hungry Offshorites figured out that politics is the golden stairway to financial heaven - in every way - and we don't need their peasant based ideas on how to run this nation.  The results to date have been dismal.
