In short:
New England North West residents have seen some of the biggest snowfalls in the region, with dozens of warnings in place across the state.
The SES said snow falling in the Northern Tablelands had never been seen at these depths before, with reports of up to 200 vehicles stuck in heavy snowfall.
Emergency services say unusual snow levels were reported at Armidale and Guyra, where falls of up to 50cm were forecast.
The heavy snow left hundreds of cars stranded as the New England North West region received its deepest snow in 20 years.
The SES has also responded to more than 750 calls since the onset of the severe winter weather.
Mr Robinson warned people to proceed with caution on the roads.
"It's so risky, unless you've actually got snow chains, even a dusting of snow can hide the black ice underneath," he said.
"Before you know it, you're sliding and you're not in control of your vehicle."
Over 27,500 homes are still without power
Mr Robinson said the mid-north coast, particularly Kempsey, was "absolutely smashed" by rain and wind.
