A five-year-old Australian girl. Murdered last week in the most horrific crime. Again, the alleged killer awaits trial. But Labor’s precious ‘isms’ that permitted and probably even determined this horrific murder are again plain for all to see.

Above all, so-called ‘anti-racism’, the idea that it is racist to demand the same of Indigenous Australians as we do of non-Indigenous Australians. A sick and perverted ideology born of cultural Marxism, another leftist ‘isms’, and the leftwing belief that purely Indigenous communities, such as the town camps and homelands, are somehow acceptable or even preferable and beyond criticism because they are collectivist and run along ‘anti-capitalist’ lines and all that they need is more and more subsidies to fund them. Which is born of separatism; the leftwing belief that Indigenous communities can remain separate, rather than assimilating and integrating into the mainstream – you even had Nugget Coombs preposterously claiming that an Indigenous or even stone-age ‘economy’ would happily merge with a modern economy if left to its own devices, or some such nonsense. Anti-colonialism. The idea that white people intervening in Aboriginal dysfunctional communities is somehow a repeat of colonial oppression and in particular that taking young boys and girls out of such dangerous environments is somehow a repeat of the so-called ‘stolen generations’.

And the worst, by far the worst, ‘ism’ of all. Fear of being accused of racism, whereby any criticism of or intervention to prevent the wrongdoings of black male Australians or culture is withheld or prevented for fear of it being seen as ‘racist’. In my opinion, precisely the same leftwing mentality that refused to tackle the grooming gangs of the UK for fear of being labelled ‘racist’ is what condemned Sharon to her ghastly fate. A refusal to acknowledge how bad things really are for fear of being labelled racist.

As of April 29, 2026, Australian headline inflation rose to 4.6 per cent in the 12 months to March 2026, up from 3.7 per cent in February, driven by high housing (6.5%), transport (+8.9%) and fuel costs.

While headline inflation surged, the Reserve Bank’s preferred trimmed mean (underlying) inflation held steady at 3.3 per cent for March.

Stealing your money and then spending it on things that you don’t want or need, or that you believe to be morally reprehensible or economically vandalous (and scandalous), is especially abhorrent.

What about spending your money on things they said they wouldn’t spend it on? Or happened not to mention when we were voting last? What kind of a mandate is that?

And what about spending it on projects that the Government says will cost $2 b (Snowy 2.0, Malcolm?) but turn out to cost over $40b?

Then there is the high-speed rail scam, apparently coming in 2028 (the starting date for construction) – $90 billion on current estimates. We know the final cost will be many times this.

The NDIS, which everybody knows is a scam, is ticking over at $50b smackers this year.

Costs are expected to reach $58b by 2028 and potentially $100b by 2034–35 without reforms.

We won’t mention the trillion on net-zero and the renewables scam. Or the COVID trillion.

Can anyone name even one of these rorts that was subject to an election debate? Oh, and we won’t mention all the pork barrelling for “local communities”, none of whom ever had the chance of a local plebiscite to determine if they even wanted the mini white elephants duly provided to them.

The Aboriginal corporation funded to support Alice Springs town camps and provide broader Indigenous safety and community programs spends more on employee costs than the entire Alice Springs council, which serves about 30,000 people in the Central Australian town.

As further evidence of dire town camp living conditions is published today, and demands grow for greater accountability on funding arrangements, The Australian can reveal the Tangentyere Council Aboriginal Corporation spent $24m on staff costs, its 2025 financial statement shows, while the Alice Springs Town Council, which services about 11,000 households, outlaid $22m in the same period. Both have a similar number of employees.

Tangentyere is funded to provide a range of employment, youth and domestic violence services as well as repairs and maintenance to the town camps, which contain about 256 homes for 1055 residents recorded in the 2021 Census. This figure is likely to be conservative and does not account for the fluctuating number of people travelling in from remote communities, which can lead to severe overcrowding.

Conditions across the estimated 16 town camps range from basic to unsanitary and some community leaders and residents are ­demanding to know where the $27m in government grants to Tangentyere last financial year is being spent.

In the Karnte town camp, about five kilometres south of Alice Springs, resident Rhonda Bob, 37, told The Australian on Sunday that the shower and cooktop in the house she shared with her brother hadn’t worked for years, but her main worry was safety. She requires renal dialysis and is concerned an intruder may enter the house at night because the door cannot be locked.

“I don’t want anyone to come in … I need safety,” she said. “I’m worrying about this one,” she said as she pointed at a door with a non-existent latch.

Ms Rob said calls to Tangentyere had gone unanswered.

“When we called Tangentyere, they didn’t come and fix this,” she said as she pointed at the door. “I was waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting.”

She said they agreed they would attend: “But nothing, we didn’t see that Tangentyere mob come.”
In the bathroom, she held up the handle of a tap that was detached from the wall.

“I told them many years (ago) for this one. I was helping my brother, too, telling (them) to put new stove in, but that’s from long, long time.”

A senior Alice Springs elder, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said it was “concerning for everyone” that payroll costs for Tangentyere were $2m higher than the town council’s while the conditions in many of the overcrowded town camp homes were “unliveable”.

The elder, who branded Tangentyere “really secretive”, called for a change in leadership.

“It fell apart because there’s a lack of accountability, lack of responsibility. It needs a changing of guard. They’ve had the same cohort of people in there in charge since forever, and they’re not winning the game,” the elder said.

He said he “wouldn’t have a clue” where the millions of dollars in funding poured into the organisation were going.

The Albanese government has delivered the most aggressive restructuring of wealth incentives this country has seen in a generation. By replacing the CGT discount, curtailing negative gearing, and targeting discretionary trusts, Labor has not merely adjusted the settings, it has rewired the risk-reward calculus underpinning private capital in Australia.

The consequences will heap burning coals on the ASX’s historic underperformance, accelerate a rental crisis that will crush the very young buyers this budget claims to champion, and push entrepreneurial capital offshore at precisely the moment Australia can least afford it.

By scaling back negative gearing, removing the flat 50 per cent capital gain tax discount, and targeting discretionary trusts, Labor is attempting a massive engineered social shift. But the problem with moving the economy’s goalposts so materially is the real damage always shows up in the second- and third-order consequences.

Consider that high-income earners and fund managers will look at a high-growth tech stock or a mid-cap disrupter and realise the tax drag on their eventual exit is now significantly higher. Why take on the binary risk of capital growth when the government takes a much larger bite of any upside, which, by the way, isn’t guaranteed? Reliable, franked dividend yields instantly become the path of least resistance.

That might sound OK at first, but it pours petrol on the problem of the ASX’s historic underperformance compared to the US. Australia’s dividend imputation system has long incentivised companies to return profits to shareholders to pass on franking credits, rather than retaining those profits to fund R&D or global scaling. By making capital growth even less tax-effective for individuals, this budget doubles down on Australia’s structural bias. It essentially tells the market to stop trying to build the next global tech or medical giant, and instead allocate capital right back into banks, miners, and legacy infrastructure. It entrenches the ASX as a low-growth, high-yield defensive sidenote.

The government also framed the changes to negative gearing and CGT on established dwellings as a massive win for first-home buyers, while the ripple effects will likely achieve the opposite.

Because existing properties are grandfathered, current investors will simply refuse to sell. Selling means giving up a precious, and now extinct, tax shelter, while facing a harsher CGT regime on whatever asset they buy next. Transaction volumes on established homes will dry up, choking market liquidity.

Meanwhile, investors are being pushed exclusively toward new builds to retain tax benefits. However, developers are already struggling with feasibility-crushing rises in construction costs, supply bottlenecks, and record insolvencies. Supply cannot scale overnight. At the same time, the budget revised net overseas migration upward to 295,000.

The result? With fewer private landlords buying established rentals and a massive influx of new residents, rents will skyrocket. The ironic, tragic third-order effect is that the young people this policy claims to assist will be utterly crushed in the rental market long before they can ever save enough for a home deposit.

Incredibly, this change is retrospective, and reportedly will apply to anyone charged out of the Brereton Inquiry. To say this is disturbing is an understatement. The chances of Australia ever having sufficient refinery capabilities are long gone and will never come back.  Your beloved LNP saw to that.  Like so many others you speak from the unobtainable- we shouldn’t be doing this, we should be doing that, she shouldn’t be there etc etc.  she was appointed to do a job overseeing Australia’s fuel needs in a crisis situation.  It doesn’t matter what your opinions are, that’s the guts of it.  As such, she should have been the one doing the negotiations, not some cohort of Labor pollies getting a free trip. 

And buying from overseas, well where the heck do we get it from in a hurry!  Your mob would have done exactly the same, paid double the price, sent warships and troops to Hormuz and licked trumps clacker on the way there. The oil Australia is sitting on - and I defer to comment made by people who know more than me - needs to be blended to make it useable and refined to a different level, a process deemed too expensive by the LNP governments of the day.  Cheaper to buy from overseas was the cry, and well,  here we are. The latest AFR/Redbridge Group/Accent Research poll shows One Nation’s primary vote increased by four percentage points to 31 per cent over the past month, while Labor’s primary support decreased by three percentage points to 28 per cent.

RedBridge Group director Kos Samaras said the two-party system most Australians grew up with was “gone”.


“The real contest, unless something changes by 2028, now runs between Labor and One Nation, and the Coalition is a spectator in the stands … eating doughnuts,” he said.

The Coalition’s primary vote dropped from 22 per cent to 20 per cent.

Redbridge director Tony Barry told the AFR the data indicated 63 per cent of respondents now view the country as heading in the wrong direction.

ON primary vote is ahead of Labor.  Cost of living, energy, housing, immigration.  Labor is useless on all fronts, just as the Libs were.

I am not sure I want PHON in but i DO want Labor and the LNP OUT until they both get back to their roots - looking after the Australian People.  If I HAVE to have PHON to do that - well, at 73 this year I wont have many years left to worry about it.  I just want to see her policies on nursing homes, GST on continance products and Maggie Beer meals 3 times a day
