Title: What’s the local news out there?
Post by Sophia on Jul 15th, 2025 at 2:52pm
Well… what could I answer… what stuck in mind to tell.

We visited a dear elder friend in his 80s in hospital after many weeks in intensive care after heart op.
He’s looking very weak with tubes everywhere.
He wanted to know the news…
So what did I report off the cuff…pedos in childcare and machete attacks in big shopping centres!

Not looking good Melbourne  >:(

Oh and there’s talk of raising the GST to 15% !

Moonee ponds stabbing citizen arrest: Accused yelled 'Allahu Akbar'

https://www.theweek.in/news/world/2025/07/14/australia-moonee-ponds-stabbing-citizen-arrest-accused-yelled-allahu-akbar-while-being-overpowered-at-shopping-area-say-eyewitnesses.html

At this stage, its every man for themselves ..

Melbourne voters getting what they vote for.

Meanwhile, this Jacinta Andrews government are pulling funding in all area country areas as no one out here gave them any votes.

Look at the electoral boundaries that they have adjusted - win the city, win the state election.

All the best for your friend..

Pretty normal news day in south east Queensland. Home invasions. Stabbings. Homeless crisis worsening and tent cities are appearing everywhere, big political concerns over how this might affect the “ image “ of the Brisbane Olympic Games.
Laws being passed to ban being homeless.
LNP government chasing the CFMU union again to try and control the taxpayer money in the billions $$ building of Olympic venues.8

Lessons hard learned by the wasted taxpayer money in the failed commonwealth games.

Mostly just stabbing and murders with many assaults, domestic and just totally random and the issue with the homeless tent cities and what can be done to hide them so qld doesn’t look third world.

Apparently our hospitals are overwhelmed and patients are being asked to sleep in seats and the traffic is horrendous.

Pretty normal news day up here in paradise.

Well where I live. The big news was that someone's hat blew off.

Gee Dave. You're close. A 90 year old woman was found with the hat in her possession and her kids demanded that she be tasered, as she refused to give it back to the Cops on bicycles. Luckily though, the wind blew it out of her hands again ...and blew her over as well. The kids are seeking a million dollars in a lawsuit for grandma's hip replacement.
Our local area are up in arms for cheaper deodorant.

I had to travel deeper into the the sun and light state today for work and catch up with friends from a past neighbourhood I once’s live.

The local news is that a baby was thrown into a lake and left to drown.

Stabbing murder of a man who found two teenagers in his home late at night.

The traffic congestion from Brisbane to Noosa is affecting domestic tourism as it’s now far quicker and cheaper to fly to Fiji from Brisbane than waiting in traffic for hours to reach the Sunshine Coast on a long weekend.

The hospitals are cancelling operations because the flu (covid) is now again epidemic here and despite both local councils and the state government directions to force police  and rangers to destroy the endless display of  large homeless tent Cities from the border to Cooktown just isn’t working.

It’s terrible frustrating for all levels of government that they don’t just disappear despite constantly being told they can’t be homeless.

A “ final solution “ is being hinted at because they can’t be seen during the upcoming  billion dollar taxpayer funded Brisbane Olympic Games.

Her solicitor will claim she suffered from dementia and argued that despite the multiple shoplifting charges against her from the local Iga aren’t relevant because she’s seriously rich and willing to pay me a million dollars to drag this out for as long as she lives.

She then asked for an adjournment and flew to Paris just for the fun of it .

The Queensland government might have to use the Western Australian government's 'playbook' they used during the 2011 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) here in Perth.

For the duration of CHOGM, all of Perth's homeless 'magically' disappeared from the streets - the State government found temporary accommodation for all of them.

But, as soon as CHOGM was over, the homeless were all back out on the streets again. And most of them are still there 14 years later (and it's getting worse).

In other news, while many Brisbane residents have been complaining for 5 years about aircraft noise since the new runway was opened (they were told most flights could take off and land over Moreton Bay using both runways but they were lied to), the government is now concerned about aircraft noise affecting the Olympic village for 2032 (paywalled but you get the idea). There's even talk about moving the village to get away from the noise.

Ordinary residents complain - nothing or very little gets done.

Anything that might affect the $$$$ rolling in - immediate action is taken.

Just another day in the "lucky country" (but only if you're a pollie or big businessman).

It will be interesting what happens.

The Sydney Olympic saw the state government herd all  the homeless North to Port Macquarie ( now seven hills by the sea)in an effort to avoid any negative overseas adverse news.

I totally understand the sentiment and frustration from our government.

You can’t waste billions of taxpayer dollars to hold a two week sporting event and then have the world exposed to our government complete failing to care for our own!?

It’s really much more important use of taxpayer dollars to spend billions to see people run really fast!

Voters in Tasmania have the choice this weekend what they want.

Stadiums or homes?

I will be down there soon and update on the local news.

Didn't all the homeless in Sydney suddenly find themselves accommodated somewhere else during the G7 photoshoot with Koalas and harbour bridge? Very expensive tourism act on behalf of foreign leaders.

I dunno - not much - accidents on the highway etc ... bit of crime, the real kind and not the manufactured for political purposes crime ... on national stuff Bradley Murdoch's conviction is now being re-considered after he has died.,

Some sheila on TV just now said she was glad that Murdock was convicted because it gave the Falconio family 'closure' - well it certainly gave Murdock closure - and the evidence (once more) just doesn't stack up - but the DNA evidence is virtually non-existent and has no chain of evidence in any way.

They got their man - but did they get the right man?  Or is the right man still out there  ...................... or did he even exist?

This kind of thing is increasingly taking place in this country as the people here lapse into increasing borderline through too much looking at TV, playing video games - and most sinisterly - listening to teachers in 'schools' these days as they lay out the latest theories of the universe for gullible and accepting little kids.

Yesterday in my local area. A young man was hit by an old woman in her electric disability chair scooter. Two tomatoes were casualties. She fled the scene on foot.

... in breaking news.... there were no reports of any White machete fights or knife attacks .... despite strenuous efforts by police and magistrates and such including the use of machete sniffer dogs in White-dominated suburbs .... not one single such attack was unearthed .....               meanwhile Whiteboy Home Invasions are down to a record Zero....                    in other news .............. some are whinging about a 'rise in racism', leaving most of the community confused as to exactly what these people are talking about..... Professor Marcia Langton, asked for an opinion for some reason, said that was because they are all stupid racists who hate any voice ....

I’d rather read sir graps post than your crap  Johnny .Personal preference I guess.

I’m still wafh (working away from home) and still moving North into “ real “QLD.

The banjos get a little louder every night as I move further north.

When trying to talk to locals I’m constantly reminded why dentists go broke up here.

The news here is a horrible car accident  killing teenagers.

I’m a far from not having a soft heart but it’s a little edgy that the community is more in shock that the vehicle wasn’t stolen by the usual suspects!

On another note ( indulgence permitted please Sophia)if I have to explain one more time that security and safety cameras aren’t actually “ Turned on and the battery regularly replaced. “I’m
then they can’t help the police in finding out who invaded your home, raped your wife and young daughter and stole your car and boat ( eyewitness accounts that they as took off they stopped  then backed up and hitched up the boat)

I travel further north tomorrow and will update.

I am so cold up here.
I’m thinking about buying a shirt

This bs with machete attacks with the types being let out on bail a lot of times…..
Now it’s just out of control! The laws should’ve nipped that behaviour in the bud… but instead, allowed it to keep carrying on as usual. Banning machete sales isn’t the answer.

This unfortunate worker is now losing his arm as a result. How proud are our laws?

Melbourne is plummeting into the pits.

The Noticer

A man has lost half of his arm after being hacked with a machete
during a mobile phone robbery at a Melbourne shopping centre.

Victoria Police said the 33-year-old man was pushed to the ground after being approached by a group of males at Central Square Shopping Centre in Altona Meadows at about 8pm on Saturday.

“It is alleged one of the offenders produced an edged weapon and struck the victim’s forearm, initially causing serious injuries. The offenders then fled the area with the victim’s phone,” police said in a statement.

Witnesses told 7 News there was “blood everywhere” and the man’s hand was only partially attached.

The man is now having the lower part of his arm amputated at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Police have not released descriptions of the attackers.

The attack comes after Victoria Premier Jacinta Allan controversially banned machetes following a spate of horrifying alleged attacks, many involving African gangs.

So wrong - his one DNA tiny sample on HER shirt does not match in any way with what the story told should have been left if he had done to her the things she claimed.

That's what the experts showed by actually following through the story.  If he'd done all the things she said he did - there should have been masses - not one tiny spot.

Even before they got to that position, my first thought was that the tape around the head and hands and feet would have heaps of his DNA - they did not. NONE!

So whose DNA WAS present on all those things?

As for 'chain of evidence' - Murdock was shown the shirt that allegedly had one spot of his DNA during an interview - before that shirt was tested... HELLO!

Be careful where you throw a tissue you use to blow your nose, smith - some copper needing a perp might pick it up and rub it on the body...
