Current advice is no.
They shouldn't have had their lives disrupted for 2 years over this mild respiratory virus either. Still it was good practice for the up coming climate lock downs. ::) ::) |

Funny how the respiratory illness seemed to affect heavily polluted areas like cities the most.

Very good, Gordon. Now, all we need is for the government to inform the 99.999% of the population who have been led to believe the pandemic is over and/or Covid is now "just a cold" so no more vaccinations are needed about this with a national advertising campaign on the TV and in the newspapers, etc. As I've said before - they can also include the States in this... starting with WA where, just like last year, not a word was said about Covid in their recent "Don't Assume You're Immune" vaccination advertising campaign. |

Carl,
Why are you ignoring the science. The best scientific minds in Australia have said NO covid vac for children. You are a dangerous anti science fool |

Is Carl slipping into the same alternative conspiratorial reality the Lastnail has descended into? Sorry, no-one I know GAF about Covid any more that they do colds or flus. Still haven't had it yet or it was so inconsequential I didn't notice, same with the wife. Is that possible after 6 years? My father had it 3 times in a WA nursing home at 88 and it didn't take him out. Carl, realign your negativity and paranoia or continue down the path of Nail.

No. But, I feel like I'm living in an alternate reality when governments advise people to get their flu vaccinations but completely ignore telling everyone to also get their Covid vaccinations - especially when Covid is still at least 5 times more deadly than the flu here in Australia. I'm guessing it's almost impossible for governments to BS people into believing the flu has "gone away" or it's now "just a cold" like they've done with Covid due to the length of time the flu has been around compared with Covid (but I'm sure they would give it a go if they thought they had any chance of getting away with it). Twilight Zone indeed. |

Oh, while I'm here - I was looking for this a while ago to use in another thread. A compilation of screenshots of some of the "promises" Anthony Albanese made about how he was going to deal with Covid if he was elected in the 2022 Federal election. All while criticising Scott Morrison, of course. (Take special note of the "Parents deserve to know..." and "Kids can get sick from Covid..." posts). Then, after winning the election he did (and continues to do)... absolutely nothing. Worthless lying piece of sh!t. media_GsWDcvsaoAAnIsc.jpg (120 KB | 21

I prefer my science to come from medical people who have no connection with (and don't have their strings pulled by) politicians.

I worked on a Medical research Institute for decades. I believe the risk to reward ratio for children means a covid vaccination for them is not recommended. ie, kids usually recover from covid ok. It's still better for them to not get it. |

Title: Re: Should kids get the coronavirus vaccine? Post by Aquarius on Jun 23rd, 2025 at 8:46am Kids don't need to get the covid vaccine because Omicron doesn't cause severe illness in young children. And children who are infected with Omicron tend to only get a mild illness anyway so do not need to be hospitalised. Personally I will not have an mRNA vaccine. |

Why is there so much "drama" about kids getting a Covid vaccination?
But, I never see or have seen any such "drama" about this: Childhood immunisation schedule A series of free vaccinations is available for children aged 0 to 4 years to protect them against serious diseases Even influenza is in the schedule. Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?... |

Title: Re: Should kids get the coronavirus vaccine? Post by Jasin on Jun 23rd, 2025 at 9:37pm
Cold and Flu are good for you.
They build your immune system up 'naturally'. Short term pain, long term gain. |

Title: Re: Should kids get the coronavirus vaccine? Post by Carl D on Jun 23rd, 2025 at 9:44pm
Maybe not, Jas.
CDC: 13% of kids who died from flu this year had brain damage Quote:
And... How the Flu Virus Invades the Brain Quote:
Well, well... it isn't just Covid that can cause brain As I've said before... if governments thought they had the slightest chance of getting away with making (almost) everyone believe the flu has "gone away" (like they've done with Covid) I'm sure they would be right onto it. |

Could it be because These vaccines WORK. ever heard of anyone getting tetanus or diphtheria after vaccination. Never. Not one. But plenty of people with multiple covid vaccines get it over and over. Clearly the stuff is garbage. Doesn't do what it was supposed to do. Which is why sane people stop being scammed |

Title: Re: Should kids get the coronavirus vaccine? Post by Carl D on Jun 24th, 2025 at 8:19am
Plenty of people keep getting the flu over and over after having the flu vaccine every year.
Doesn't mean the flu vaccine isn't working. Just like the Covid vaccine, it keeps a lot of people out of hospital (and the morgue). So, again... why all the "drama" about Covid vaccinations in particular? |

Title: Re: Should kids get the coronavirus vaccine? Post by Carl D on Jun 24th, 2025 at 8:38am
Oh, and again... why do governments (including our own State and Federal governments) refuse to talk about Covid anymore, even in vaccination advertising campaigns?
And, why did Albanese blatantly lie about Covid before the 2022 Federal election? One of the lies was setting up a "Mass public information campaign" about vaccination (the word "campaign" is obscured in the screenshot). (Don't bother answering... the questions are purely rhetorical). media_GsWDcvsaoAAnIsc1.jpg (19 KB | 22

Incorrect
Fluvax is 70 % effective. Not perfect but not bad. I get it every 3 yrs or so And it's a vaccine that's been out for 60 yrs And it's not using your own genes via rna so it can't hurt you. Covid Vax is New Rushed through Should have been tested for 10 years of trials like ever other vaccine. A novel technology Definitely caused cardiac issues . And FAIRLY USELESS. It's a lemon |

It is more relevant to observe the Australian statistics rather than the US. They will always have more deaths in winter due to their worse conditions. Covid Deaths in Australia from 2020 - 2024 Males 0-19 years - 14 Females 0-19 years - 10 It is not recommended that children up to 17 have the vaccine. https://www.abs.gov.au/articles/covid-19-mortality-australia-deaths-registered-until-31-january-2024 Most of the deaths were due to pre existing chronic conditions, and being immunocompromised. And I am NOT an antivaxxer. However I will not have the flu vaccine because I never get the flu. I had it once when I was 18 and that was the only time. I obviously have an immunity to flu and I have worked through several flu epidemics. That was tough because obviously you cannot get agency staff because you're in lockdown so that meant at times working with a skeleton staff and having to do double shifts. But the last vaccine I had was the whooping cough/diphtheria/tenanus triple vaccine in 2016 because there was an epidemic of whooping cough on the Northern Beaches and I wanted to see my new baby grandson who was too young to be vaccinated. This epidemic was caused by anti-vaxxers refusing to get their infants immunised. The original covid virus has continued to mutate as viruses do. It is not the same virus and our immune systems are catching up. Whilst we will always remain 2 to 3 steps behind - we're just dealing with another respiratory virus at the moment. As for the effectiveness of mRNA vaccines - I still prefer the traditional ones that don't need to be stored at -70 Celsius which is colder than Antarctica! The mRNA vaccines have been around since the 60s but never used for humans until Ebola. And as we know, it takes 10.7 years for a vaccine to be developed and then marketed. That is to ensure long-term safety, the technology is proven and that all side-effects are tested. |
