LOL At least some videos tried to simplify it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewtgUFSMsnY I’m glad I didn’t try to study chemistry any more than I did at Uni – I did some papers in organic and inorganic chemistry. I never would have passed at the higher levels as Chemistry is often regarded as the hardest of subjects. I find it remarkable that any human being was able to work out all the equations and models themselves. |

Today then I’m going to be looking at the Planck Density. Let’s find out more. Before we start, we need to know what density is. Density is a measure of how tightly packed a material is. In other words, how much stuff is packed into a certain volume of space. To work out density then we need a formula, and units. To work out density we use the following formula, density and that is denoted by the greek letter rho equals mass divided by volume. The SI unit of density is kilograms per metre cubed. So now that we know what density is and we have our units, time to see how dense different materials are and then compare that to the Planck density, which is very dense indeed. Asteroid contains building blocks of life, say scientists 16 hours ago The chemical building blocks of life have been found in the grainy dust of an asteroid called Bennu, an analysis reveals. Asteroid Bennu is a 500m-wide pile of boulders, rocks and rubble Samples of the space rock, which were scooped up by a Nasa spacecraft and brought to Earth, contain a rich array of minerals and thousands of organic compounds. These include amino acids, which are the molecules that make up proteins, as well as nucleobases - the fundamental components of DNA. This doesn't mean there was ever life on Bennu, but it supports the theory that asteroids delivered these vital ingredients to Earth when they crashed into our planet billions of years ago. Scientists think those same compounds could also have been brought to other worlds in our Solar System. "What we've learned from it is amazing," said Prof Sara Russell, a cosmic mineralogist from the Natural History Museum in London. "It's telling us about our own origins, and it enables us to answer these really, really big questions about where life began. And who doesn't want to know about how life started?" The findings are published in two papers in the journal Nature. The new research has shown that the space rock is packed full of nitrogen and carbon-rich compounds. These include 14 of the 20 amino acids that life on Earth uses to build proteins and all four of the ring-shaped molecules that make up DNA - adenine, guanine, cytosine and thymine. The study has also found an array of minerals and salts, suggesting water was once present on the asteroid. Ammonia, which is important for biochemical reactions, was discovered in the sample too. |

I don't know if "gives this planet life" considering we believe that life originated in the deep sea around vents however I think it has played a major role for life to move to land. The tides forced some animals and plants to survive in tidal regions, forcing them to survive in and out of the sea. This provided the environment for evolution to have a stepping stone to the land. Just a thought. |

I recently came across a paper Jones et al 2023, which cites increased temperatures per Gt of GHG's.

Australia's emissions are of course smaller. In the order of 19.66Gt cumulative. So we multiply the global change per Gt by Australia's Cumulative emissions and we get 0.0008847ºC since 1850. I didn't take out the start figure as it amounts to little more than a rounding error. However, the widespread occurrence of large gold nuggets is at odds with the dilute nature of these fluids and the chemical inertness of quartz. Quartz is the only abundant piezoelectric mineral on Earth, and the cyclical nature of earthquake activity that drives orogenic gold deposit formation means that quartz crystals in veins will experience thousands of episodes of deviatoric stress. Here we use quartz deformation experiments and piezoelectric modelling to investigate whether piezoelectric discharge from quartz can explain the ubiquitous gold–quartz association and the formation of gold nuggets. We find that stress on quartz crystals can generate enough voltage to electrochemically deposit aqueous gold from solution as well as accumulate gold nanoparticles. Nucleation of gold via piezo-driven reactions is rate-limiting because quartz is an insulator; however, since gold is a conductor, our results show that existing gold grains are the focus of ongoing growth. We suggest this mechanism can help explain the creation of large nuggets and the commonly observed highly interconnected gold networks within quartz vein fractures. |

The $30 Billion Betrayal: Britain's Atom Bomb Mistake In March 1940, two British scientists calculated that an atomic bomb only needed 20 pounds of uranium - not tons. It could fit in a plane and level a city. And Nazi Germany might already be working on one. By July 1941, Britain's MAUD Committee had proven the bomb was achievable and created a detailed roadmap. There was just one problem: Britain was broke and couldn't afford to build it. So in August 1943, Churchill and Roosevelt signed the Quebec Agreement. Britain would share everything - all research, scientists, and breakthroughs. America would build it. After the war, they'd remain partners. British scientists joined the Manhattan Project. Made crucial contributions. The bomb worked. War ended. Then on August 1, 1946, the McMahon Act made sharing atomic information with ANY nation - including allies - a federal crime. Britain was cut off completely from their own invention. Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin: "We've got to have this thing over here whatever it costs... We've got to have the bloody Union Jack on top of it." Britain spent the next six years and hundreds of millions of pounds rebuilding from scratch what they'd already invented and given away. The main scientific reasoning is all that water came from comets and meteors billions of years ago and unlike Mars, was retained by our protective magnetic sphere and primordial atmosphere.
It's not really calculated, nor can be, regarding all the crystallised water and liquid water that is deep in the crust. |

Mars will always be a dead stillborn of a planet.
The concept and belief of a Mars colony even in 50 years time is insane! More a money making funding gimmick currently and that's the only thing working for it. A NASA scam. Until we can do a self sufficient colony in the middle of the Antarctic, the Mars colony will be a catastrophe to put it mildly. Even the Astro-Cosmological idea of planets having life because of an earth related Goldilocks zone is short sighted. What they need to look for is planets with a sizable satellite moon relationship. Mars needs something like Ceres pushed into orbit around it, to jumpstart it's magnetosphere as a first step entirely towards Retaining any semblance of micro life to begin with. It's our moon that has given life the stimulus to evolve here. The Pluto-Charon binary system is our best bet to discovering life here and it's not in any Goldilocks zone. Water (liquid) moons like Enceladus or Europa doesn't guarantee life. I reckon they too are sterile. The gravitational effect of our moon stimulates movement in and on earth and movement provides change and change means evolutions. |

One could have existed say a billion years ago, say - 1,000 light years from us and all that is left are fossils. The chances of 2 advanced civilizations existing at the same time are very small. We've only had radio communications for about 130 years - a brief moment in time compared to the 13 billion years of history of the Milky Way galaxy. |
