The federal government has announced a $6.5m pilot of age assurance technology to prevent children from accessing pornography and harmful content as part of its response to the family violence crisis in Australia. But how will it work? And will it be effective? Here’s what we know so far. What is the government proposing? The prime minister, Anthony Albanese, announced the pilot “will identify available age assurance products to protect children from online harm, and test their efficacy, including in relation to privacy and security”. “The outcomes will inform the existing work of Australia’s eSafety Commissioner under the Online Safety Act – including through the development of industry codes or standards – to reduce children’s exposure to age-inappropriate material.” What would be covered by it? That has yet to be decided, but Albanese has said it will “protect children from harmful content, like pornography and other age-restricted online services”. It is understood the trial may cover not only adult sites, but also other services where there are age restrictions, such as gaming. How would it work? The general idea is that when someone attempts to access a website hosting adult content, the site will employ a method to ensure that person is an adult." Editorial comment:- Coupla general statements there..... always short on detail these guys... anyone here think this is important? |

Oh, well - not important - let the kids rot then... up to the light house and cut out their gonads ... fill 'em full of chemicals until they burst and just want off the island even if they have to die as a monster ...
Sorry I bothered you ... stuff the kids.. .... |

Oh, well - don't say I didn't tell you so - again........no problem if you want to throw your own grand-kids on the funeral pyre of the West - problem for you all begins when you want to do it to mine.
I'll be voting for anyone who stands against The Madness. I'm watching Lord Of the flies so as to gain a working knowledge... you needn't bother - it's way above you... |

I watched my first pornographic movie when I was 8 years old. I viewed it at a neighbour's place, where some teens were watching their parent's porno. Some questions came to mind that I could not ask my parents about it, lest I get myself or my neighbours into trouble.
Other than the occasional pornographic magazine and a few movies I watched in my mid teens of pornographic nature, there was not a great deal of exposure to pornography. But, I did lose my virginity well before I was of legal age. The year 1997, I was introduced to my first use of the internet at university. The first 6 months were spent using the internet as a way to answer a lot of questions and to pose a few more. The parabolic learning curve was almost resembling my erections. But, you would expect the sexual peak years for 18 year old guys to have such similarities. Given the exposure to pornography at such a young age and then reinforcing such content of pornography, I could say that the experience had tempered my behaviour to respect women a lot more. |

Give the government an inch of oversight and you know where that leads.
