FD should like this one. The US has dropped to its lowest freedom score ever.

It's the largest drop in decades, the US ranked at 38th, tying with that bastion of freedom, South Africa.

The reason? The US government crackdown on that value JD and Stephen Miller love to lecture Europe on: freedom of speech.

It doesn't help when federal authorities shoot protesters in the street, one would assume. Nor is it too nice when the government threatens networks' broadcasting licenses, sues newspapers and threatens to sue just about everyone else. Even the First Lady's in on the act, not to mention the FBI director - the most litigious administration we've ever seen before.

After all, no other administration has ever threatened litigation, never mind sued anybody for having a say. Certainly, no prez has ever sued his own administration, settled, and paid himself out. That one's a first. The US is now close to becoming, according to the global freedom index, not free.

Still, it triggers the leftards ever so, no?
