This is a way to control woman, and their body.
Very sad.
It is cruel and very sad.
When the woman’s water breaks before the fetus has developed lungs and cannot survive it still cannot be aborted but has to be carried. Partial miscarriage? The same. The fetus must be septic and turned the womb septic thus placing the woman’s life in danger before anything can be done. This in a country with 8 to 2 times the maternal death rate of Australia. Peanut states like Alabama had 40 maternal deaths per 100,000 births, Australia has 5.
But say the birth proceeds normally—what is the effect on the mother of that birth? Her health insurance, employment situation, educational chances etc?
In a decade or so—a huge cohort of unwanted children turning into juvenile delinquents. Pro life, what a sad joke.
When collecting data for Alabama:
Too many Alabama women die each year from complications related to pregnancy.
These deaths occur during pregnancy and up to one year following a pregnancy/delivery.
When collecting data for Australia:
In Australia, where childbirth is safe for most women, maternal death is rare. In 2023, 27 women were reported to have died
during pregnancy or within 42 days of the end of pregnancy.
Not arguing one way or another but the statistics don't match.
