"Four people arrested and charged over alleged stabbing murder of Bega man Gordon Kessey Police described the investigation into the murder as ‘complex’. Four people have been charged with murder weeks after a man was allegedly stabbed to death. Investigations into the alleged murder of 43-year-old Gordon Kessey were launched after he was found with stab wounds in a park on East St in Bega, southern NSW, about 2am on October 6. Kessey died at the scene while another man, aged 45, was found to have also suffered stab wounds but survived after being rushed to hospital. More than six weeks later, police arrested four people during three simultaneous search warrants in Bega and nearby Bemboka about 7.30am on Thursday and charged over the alleged incident. Inquiries under Strike Force Nackstone had allegedly uncovered weapons and electronic devices during searches of homes and wetlands in Bega in the week prior to the arrests This has been a complex homicide investigation involving involving multiple crime scenes, forensic and investigative searches,” Acting Inspector Luke Walsh of the South Coast Police District said. Walsh said police have “located a number of knives” during the investigation, but are yet to find a “dagger” believed to have been used during the alleged incident. We do imagine that there’s going to be more people arrested at some point ... and I’m confident will happen down track,” Walsh said. He added the investigation had received “a lot of information” from the public, who he said had “no reason” to be concerned following the arrests."
Three men — Benjamin Keith Robinson, 34, Dion Lloyd, 32, and Kody Lloyd, 29 — along with 19-year-old Litisha Mundy, faced the Bail Division Court on Friday. All four were charged with murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder, while the 32-year-old and Mundy each faced an additional count of possessing an illicit firearm. They were formally refused bail and are next due to appear before Batemans Bay Local Court on January 19."
